Game One:
Â
Game one was a pitchers duel for the first three and a half innings of play. The Hawks were able to score first in the bottom of the fourth inning, pushing across two runs to take a 2-0 lead. The Green and Gold answered back in the top half of the fifth when
Meghan Cullen doubled to left field scoring
Kathleen Laskey.
Â
With one out in the top of the seventh, the Golden Eagles still trailed 2-1, but Laskey was able to tie the contest up crushing her first home run of the season over the left field wall.
Â
The two counterparts remained scoreless for the next 2.5 innings of play. New Paltz won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning, scoring on a wild pitch.
