Brockport Drop to University of Rochester, 6-0

BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport lost in a tough battle on Wednesday evening against the University of Rochester, 6-0.

The Golden Eagles fall to 1-4 on the season, where the Yellowjackets improve to 4-1 in 2017.

Brockport fell behind early in the game, when Rochester connected on a penalty corner in the 8th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Yellowjackets added to two more goals in the first half in the 15th and 16th minute to take a lead 3-0 heading into the break.

In the second half, the Golden Eagles best offensive opportunity came from a penalty corner in the 47th minute, where Jenna Croce's shot was saved. The deficit grew larger as Rochester tallied on three goals in the 46th, 50th, and 52nd minute to bring the score to 6-0. In the last minute of the game, Katie Ziemba intercepted a pass in the offensive zone to have a last chance scoring opportunity, but it was eventually shut down by the Yellowjackets defense to have the final score set at 6-0.

Sarah Beam played well in the net for the Green and Gold, finishing the day with 13 saves, and with Adriana DeDie seeing 10 minutes of action finishing with two.
