BROCKPORT, N.Y.- The College at Brockport men's soccer team fell against Oswego Friday afternoon, by a score of 2-1. With the loss, Brockport moves to 11-3-2 overall record and 5-1-2 in conference, while the Lakers improve to 6-6-3 overall and 3-4-1 in conference.

The first half saw a dominant performance from Brockport, controlling ball possession for the majority of the first 45. The Golden Eagles got the scoring started 13 minutes into the half, when Ayub Jeylani netted his 10th of the season off a beautiful pass from Jason Hayes, putting the Green and Gold ahead, 1-0. The Lakers would answer with a goal of their own at the 39th minute, finding a hole in the Golden Eagle defense and beating Brockport goalkeeper Tautis Poniskaitis, through a screen. Brockport would out-chance the Lakers in the first half, 11-4.

The second half looked like someone turned up the intensity, with both teams creating quality offensive opportunities.  Brockport looked like they would take the lead at the 71st minute when an Oswego defender dragged down a Alex Giordano inside their own box. The Golden Eagles were awarded a penalty kick on the play but the attempt was denied by the Oswego goalkeeper. The Lakers would take the lead at the 84th minute, scoring on a header ball inside the Brockport box. The Golden Eagles played hard to the final whistle, finding a few quality chances late in the half but would come up empty-handed.

The Green and Gold are back in action Friday, Oct. 20 when they take on Cortland for a 1 p.m. Senior Day matchup.
