ONEONTA, N.Y.- The College at Brockport women's soccer fell to SUNY Oneonta Saturday afternoon, by a score of 2-0. With the loss, Brockport moves to a 5-8 overall record and 2-4 in conference play, while the Red Dragons improve to 5-7 on the year and 2-4 in conference.
Brockport played an evenly matched first half, registering seven shots in the first 45 minutes. The two teams would share scoring opportunities,
Myriah Saar leading the attack with three shots in the first half. The Green and Gold's net-minder,
Kimberly Lubanski stood tall, saving everything the Red Dragons threw at her, allowing the Golden Eagles to exit the half tied at nil.
The second half told another story for the Green and Gold, falling behind within the first 10 minutes of the half off after an onslaught of shooting from Oneonta-- who would eventually capitalize on volleying play, taking the lead, 1-0. Brockport answered back with a few chances of their own, but the Red Dragons goalie would answer the call. Oneonta would solidify their win at the 81st minute after a ball bounced off Lubanski's fingers and a Red Dragons forward found the rebound, extending their lead 2-0.
The Green and Gold are back in action Wednesday, Oct. 10 when they host SUNY Canton for a 3:30 p.m. matchup.
