Dunne Picks Up Career Win Number 200 As The Golden Eagles Defeat Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y.- The College at Brockport men's basketball team won another State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup on Saturday, against SUNY Oneonta by the final score of 86-75. This win gives head coach Greg Dunne his 200th career win for the Green and Gold, another notable milestone in his career.

The Golden Eagle's record rises to 10-4 overall, and an impressive 6-1 in SUNYAC play, while on the other hand the Red Dragons' record falls to 6-6 overall, and 1-5 in conference play.

Brockport kept the momentum going after the exciting win over SUNY New Paltz Friday night, as they took off to a comfortable lead early in the game. After a three pointer by Antonio Alvarez and multiple field goals by Justin Summers and Devante Hagins, the Green and Gold found themselves with a 18-7 advantage at the 13:52 mark. From that point forward, the play of the Golden Eagles caught fire and at halftime they had a convincing lead, 47-27.

Beginning the second half, Oneonta slowly fought their way back to bring their deficit to single digits. A layup by Jahidi Wallace followed by a Montgomery Stroman three pointer from distance put a stop to the Red Dragons momentum. Brockport, then with control of the game, began to run the clock out and extended the lead to 19 at the 1:29 mark. Brockport won with a final score of 86-75.

Summers was the team leader in points today with 18 points after missing the previous two matchups due to injury. Alvarez wasn't far behind with 17 total points for himself, while shooting 60% from behind the arch. Stroman, Brandon Kennedy- Gay, and Wallace each finished with 8 points off the bench. Brockport's bench players outscored Oneoeta's bench 33-9.

Brockport's next battle will be against SUNY Geneseo at home on Saturday, Jan. 19thfor a SUNYAC matchup set to start at 4 p.m.
