Courage Bowl Background: The Courage Bowl, in its 15th year of existence, has grown into one of Camp Good Days' largest fundraisers since its inception in 2004. Each year, St. John Fisher and Brockport square off in a Division III football game to benefit Camp Good Days. Prior to Brockport, the University of Rochester and Alfred University had been opponents of St. John Fisher in The Courage Bowl. For the game, Camp Good Days selects honorary coaches and cheerleaders for both teams. These are Camp Good Days campers who have been diagnosed with cancer and would normally not be allowed to participate in a real football game. The Camp Good Days Courage Bowl gives these campers that opportunity.  At the conclusion of the Courage Bowl, the Teddi Trophy, named in memory of Teddi Mervis, Gary Mervis' daughter and the inspiration behind Camp Good Days, will be presented, which will later be inscribed with the date of the game, final score of the game, names of the six Honorary Coaches and the names of one player from each team who displays exceptional leadership and sportsmanship.

Follow the Action: Live video and stats will be provided by St. John Fisher's athletic communications office at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/sjfc/. Live audio for all games will be provided by 89.1 The Point, Brockport's student radio station.

Series History: Saturday will mark the 25th time in program history that the Golden Eagles and Cardinals have met on the football field with Brockport holding a 16-8 advantage.  The series, which began nearly 30 years ago in 1989, had the Golden Eagles winning their first 14 matchups with Fisher. Brockport has won two straight Courage Bowls, including a convincing 49-7 victory at Bob Boozer Field last season. The Brockport defense has allowed just seven points in each of the last two meetings against Fisher. The last time the Courage Bowl was played at Growney Stadium in 2017, Brockport came away with a 38-7 victory.

Empire 8 Opener: Saturday's contest is also the Empire 8 opener for both teams. Brockport has won back-to-back Empire 8 Championships and the Golden Eagles have not lost a conference game since Oct. 29, 2016. Following last season's E8 title, Brockport advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Div. III Championship while registering an 11-1 overall record.  Brockport's repeat as Empire 8 Champs came courtesy of consecutive 10-0 regular season efforts.  In 2017, the Golden Eagles advanced all the way to the semifinals of the NCAA Division III Championships.

Week Four Recap: Brockport jumped out to a 45-0 halftime lead and never looked back on its way to a convincing 55-6 victory over visiting Alfred State on Homecoming & Family Weekend at Bob Boozer Field on Saturday. Brockport posted 600+ total yards of offense for the first time since week seven of last season when they dominated Buffalo State at home by the score of 65-7. Freshman quarterback Freddy June continues to make strides each week and posted the top passing performance of his collegiate career to date. June finished the day completing 12-of-16 passes for 220 yards and two touchdowns through the air. He also added a first quarter rushing touchdown to give the Golden Eagles at 7-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest. Brockport's stingy defense was at it once again, holding Alfred to just five yards rushing on the ground.  The Pioneers could only muster 67 total yards on the day, and they were forced to punt 12 times.

Receiving Votes: Brockport is receiving votes for the fourth straight week in the latest d3football.com national poll (18 votes in week 4). Brockport has been a fixture in the top 25 each week dating back to week 1 of 2017. The top 25 is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, Sports Information Directors and media members from across the country, and is published weekly.
