The College at Brockport women's basketball team is set to host William Smith College this Saturday at 2 p.m. for their final non-conference matchup before the holiday break. The Golden Eagles currently hold a 3-1 overall record heading into the weekend, their only loss coming at the hands of the Yellow Jackets from the University of Rochester on Tuesday night.

Against the Yellow Jackets: The Golden Eagles knew they had a tough competitor ahead in the University of Rochester and aimed to shut down their strength from the perimeter in Tuesday nights matchup. The Green and Gold held their ground on defense through the first half but struggled to maintain the momentum through the second, allowing the Yellow Jackets to pick up enough of a lead to secure themselves a win. Taylor led Brockport through 11 different lead changes, netting 15 points while grabbing two rebounds and three steals. Rosbrook and Chelsea Henry each added 11 points as well. The Golden Eagles best performance came in the second quarter where they shot 58 percent from the floor, netting seven of 12 attempts. The team also shot 66 percent or better in all four quarters from the free throw line, shooting a perfect 100 percent from the line in both the second and third quarter.

Looking Back: Brockport and William Smith met at a similar point last season, with the Herons sneaking past the Golden Eagles for an 83-70 win. The Herons defense played a major role in the Golden Eagles demise, consistently shutting down the paint and forcing the team to rely on opportunities from the perimeter. Rosbrook provided the scoring, shooting six for nine from the floor, amassing 14 points and four rebounds. Pratt and Allison Chiera then each posted 10 of their own. Chiera was active from all areas of the floor adding five rebounds four assists, three steals and a block as well.

Ready For The Rematch: The Herons are currently averaging 64 points and 12 assists per game, led by freshman Lauren DeVaney and junior Stavriana Dimitrakopoulou. The team is currently on a two-game win streak coming out of the Terry Greene Tip Off Classic where they moved past both Elizabethtown College and Wilkes University.
