CORTLAND, N.Y. – The College at Brockport swimming and diving teams capped off a successful weekend at the Cortland Snowflurries Invitational Saturday afternoon. The women's team brought home a second-place win with a score of 702 and the men's team jumped up to a fourth-place finish with a score of 539. Day two included events 17 through 40.
The women's 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Hailey Rossi,
Nicole Orcutt,
Sawyer Parker and
Kaitlin Dunning had another successful outing, posting second-place with a time of 1:42.38. The Golden Eagles other relay team of
Rebekah Wilkinson,
Sarah Mullane,
Bri Owen and
Allison Morrow finished just behind them in third-place with a time of 1:45.16.
Mark Eaton grabbed another first-place finish on the diving board, nailing a 268.55 score in the 1-meter dive. Lexi Foster posted fourth in the 3-meter dive for the women's team with a score of 190.75.
Logan Gregory had a strong day for the men's team, posting fourth overall in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.70. Owen, Orcutt and Rossi commanded the top five in the 100-yard butterfly as well, taking second, fourth and fifth respectively.
Matthew Dambra also had a strong day, finishing fifth overall in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:50.45. Dunning had similar success in the event, grabbing fourth overall with a time of 2:03.50.
Oliver Dragojevic posted a top five finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with a fourth-place time of 1:02.64. He then went on to grab another fourth-place time in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:19.19.
The men's 400 medley relay team of Gregory, Dragojevic,
Peter Schmeer and Dambra continued the trend of success with a third-place finish, clocked at 3:43.56.
Dee Logory, rossi, Owen and Parker matched the men's team finish in the event with a time of 4:15.82.
Dambra and Gregroy nabbed third and fourth-place in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 2:02.73 and 2:04.01. Logory and Parker were the top duo for the women's team in the event, posting second (2:18.60) and fifth-place (2:21.07) respectively.
Dunning posted her final individual top finish in the 100-yard freestyle, grabbing third-place overall with a time of 56.63.
Both of the 400-yard freestyle relay teams capped off the day for the men's and women's team. The men's team of Gregory,
William Tolpa, Dambra and
Rainer Grimmer posted fourth overall with a time of 3:21.07 and the both women's team's (1) Parker, Orcutt, Dunning and Rossi and (2)
Julia Fay, Wilkinson, Owen and Logory grabbed second and third-place, clocked at 3:47.13 and 3:51.97.
The Golden Eagles will pick back up competition in the new year where they will host Oneonta for a dual meet at home of the 18th at 1 p.m.
