Â
The second frame continued the back and forth trend of the first half. With 14:22 on the clock, Ashley had a pair of layups, being fouled on the second to help extend the lead to 49-39. Summers and Hagins provided consistent play to keep that advantage at six until an Ashley three pointer with 4:16 left pushed it to nine. Â
After a barrage of free throws from Geneseo, the game was brought back to a one possession game at 76-73 with just 25 seconds left. The tough press of the Knights led to a turnover and a quick three to tie the game at 76. With a chance to end the game, a missed three pointer led to a foul by Brockport on the rebound and Geneseo made one free throw to win the game 77-76.
Â
The Golden Eagles were led by Hagins who had a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Summers finished with 16 and Ashley also had a balanced game finishing with 13 points, five assists, and six rebounds.
