Loss, 10-6

  • Megan Van Dorn and Cheyenne Wilson were on the mound for the Golden Eagles in game one.
  • The Knights put up a quick two runs in the bottom of the first inning to put the Green and Gold at a deficit, however Alison Missavage would put the team on the board shortly after.
  • After back-to-back fielders choice situations, Missavage nailed a double to left center to score Kacie Hubbard.
  • Despite the run, the Knights moved the game to three, grabbing a 4-1 lead after a couple of clutch hits.
  • The Golden Eagles didn't let the deficit stunt them however; adding three runs of their own in the following inning to move the score within one.
  • Alexis Ross gave the Green and Gold their first base runner in the third with a single.
  • Meghan Cullen then moved Ross to second on a ground out, giving Casey Danko a runner in scoring position with two outs.
  • Danko capitalized on the opportunity placing a single in the right side, scoring Ross for the second run of the day.
  • Jessica Koneski was the next to come up clutch for the Golden Eagles as the junior doubled to right field scoring Danko.
  • The Green and Gold's following two runs came in the top of the fifth, starting with a single by Cullen.
  • Danko added a single of her own to follow, giving the Golden Eagles a first and second situation with Koneski at the plate.
  • Koneski notched her second hit of the day with a double down the left field line, picking up two RBI on Danko and Cullen.
  • The Knights improved their lead to five in the fifth, which would later seal the deal for them.
  • The Golden Eagles put up one more run in the top of the seventh off a double from Cullen, however not enough to complete the comeback this time.

Game 2
Loss, 10-3

  • Game two started as a battle of the pitching staffs as both teams remained scoreless through the first two innings.
  • The Knights commanded a lead however in the bottom of the third inning, collecting five runs off of five hits and a homerun.
  • The Golden Eagles answered back in the fourth, putting up three runs of their own.
  • Cullen reached first on a fielding error, opening the door for scoring opportunities.
  • Danko followed suit with a single to shortstop, advancing Cullen to second in the process.
  • Koneski rounded out a strong day at the plate with a double to left center, picking up an RBI off Cullen.
  • With the momentum now in their favor, Missavage hit a triple to left field, allowing Koneski and Danko to score, moving the score to 5-3 in the Knights favor.
