Golden Eagles compete at Hamilton Outdoor Invitational

CLINTON, N.Y. –  The College at Brockport men's and women's track and field teams entered their second weekend of competition at Hamilton College confidently after a strong start at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational last weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED – 
 
Men
 
Track-
  • Ethan Carey got the men's team off to a hot start on the track in the 10,000m, posting a qualifying time of 32:48.12, while also securing him first place.
  • Freshman James O'Brien found success in steeplechase, posting a third-place qualifying time of 9:54.04. Alex Burg rounded out the event for the men's team, grabbing 10th place with a time of 10:32.49.
  • Much like their success in Geneseo, Sean Kuehn, Andrew Davis and Marius Sidlauskas each grabbed another top 10 finish in the 1500m. Kuehn brought home second-place with a time of 4:03.33 followed by Davis in seventh with a time of 4:06.33 and Sidlauskas in ninth at 4:07.09.
  • Brandon Leiter led the 110m hurdles for the Green and Gold, securing a third-place finish of 15.52, making him a regional qualifier as well.  
  • Olivier Kothor led the sprint events, posting a third-place qualifying time of 10.98 in the 100m. Devin Legrair closed out the top 10 in ninth-place with a time of 11.33.
  • Humberto Wallace Jr. was a solo top finisher in the 5000m securing a sixth-place with a time of 15:20.82, strong enough to add him to the list of qualifiers.
  • The men's 4x800 team closed out the afternoon on the track with a first-place finish of 8:21.82. The group consisted of Kuehn, Dylan Brickner, Sharif Jarvis, and Mike Young
Field-
  • Taj Shaw and Egypt Page opened up the field events in the long jump, notching third and fourth-place respectively. Shaw was marked at 6.61m and Page at 6.59m.
  • After making an appearance at the NCAA Indoor Championships, freshman Joe Weaver continued his success in the pole vault with a second-place mar of 4.82m.
  • Shaw then added two second-place finishes in the high jump and triple jump. The junior was marked at 1.84m in the high jump and 13.91m in the triple jump.
  • Anthony DeYoung, Johnathon Fleming and Art Jordan shined in shot put, bringing home second, third and sixth place respectively. DeYoung was marked at 15.02m, Fleming at 14.53m, and Jordan at 13.73m.
  • Fleming and Gunner Rapone ranked in the hammer throw, Fleming with second-place throw of 50.47m and Rapone with a fifth-place mark of 47.78m.
  • DeYoung found his final top 10 finish of the day in the discus throw where he posted an eighth-place finish of 37.86m.
 
Women
 
Track-
  • Allison Miller dominated in the steeplechase with a first-place time of 11:18.58, allowing her to join the list of regional qualifiers. Katie Adams grabbed a top 10 finish as well, with her eighth-place finish of 12:35.05.
  • The 4x100 team of Molly Scarpello, Cynthia John-Ogam, Satin Holmes, and Brianna Lawless brought home their second first place finish of the season, posting a 48.82 qualifying time.
  • Holmes grabbed another top finish in the 400m, posting eighth-place with a time of 1:03.30.
  • John-Ogam (12.87) and Scarpello (12.93) found continued success as well, notching third and fourth-place in the 100m.
  • Holly Heil led the women's team in the 800m, grabbing second-place with a time of 2:25.08. Rose Pitman and Molly Kazba followed not far behind with eighth and ninth-place finishes respectively.
  • Lawless found her strength in the 400m hurdles, where she picked up her second top five finish with a second-place time of 1:08.42.
  • The duo of John-Ogam and Scarpello achieved their third top finishes of the day in the 200m, John-Ogam in second clocked at 26.10 and Scarpello in eighth at 26.46. 
Field-
  • Freshman Halle King led things off for the women's field athletes in the high jump with a first-place mark of 1.55m.
  • Alayna Fredenburg had another successful outing in the javelin throw, posting a third-place finish with a mark of 34.08m.
  • Jessica Craven and Mady Dibble grabbed two top five finishes for the women's team in the discus throw, Craven with a first-place mark of 40.25m and Dibble with a fourth-place mark of 35.57m.
  • Craven picked up her second first-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 12.68m and Dibble picked up a fifth-place finish of 11.20m. Carly Antonucci and Holly Buccheri ranked not far behind, grabbing sixth and eighth-place respectively.
  • Craven rounded out her third first-place win of the day in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.10m. Olivia George and Lelly Hoose joined her in the top 10, George with a third-place finish of 45.81m and Hoose with a ninth-place finish of 39.75m.
  • Kelcey Watson and Maya Reina closed out the day for the women in pole vault where the two tied for first-place in the event with a pair of 3.46m marks.
 
UP NEXT – 

The Golden Eagles head to Pennsylvania next weekend for the Bucknell University Outdoor Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
