BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport men's and women's track and field teams traveled to SUNY Geneseo for their May Meet as the regular season begins to wind down. Athletes are fighting their way to qualify for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships.
HOW IT HAPPENED –
Men
Track-
·
Olivier Kothor,
Devon Legrair,
Egypt Page and Matthew Kilian took first-place in the 4x100 race, finishing in a time of 42.27.
·
Mike Panzarino nabbed fifth-place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.96.
· Page later took first-place in the 100m dash in 10.92, while teammate Legrair finished in 11.18, earning him fourth-place.
·
Mike Young ran in the 800m run and used a time of 1:58.28 to take fourth. In the same event, Humberto Wallace finished in seventh with a time of 2:01.13.
· Legrair once again showed his speed, this time in the 200m dash as he took second-place with a time of 22.80.
Field-
·
Art Jordan competed in the discus throw and used a toss of 39.20 to take home sixth-place.
· Jordan also was a factor in the shot put as he finished in third place with a mark of 14.69m.
· In the same event,
Tony DeYoung took second-place with a throw of 15.62m and
Matt Faulise ended in fourth with a throw of 14.19m.
· Bryan short finished the high jump in fourth with a leap of 1.95m.
Women
Track-
· The 4x100 team of
Molly Scarpello,
Cynthia John-Ogam,
Satin Holmes and
Brianna Lawless combined for a time of 47.93 to take second-place.
· Holmes and Lawless later competed in the 100m dash. Holmes took fourth with a time of 12.65, while Lawless used a mark of 12.72 to take fifth.
· Lawless was impressive in the 200m as she finished in fourth-place with a time of 25.94.
Field-
·
Jessica Martin kicked it off with a sixth-place finish in the high-jump with a height of 1.50m.
·
Lisa Huynh tabbed a fourth-place finish in the triple-jump after leaping a mark of 10.88m.
· In the discus throw,
Carly Antonucci tossed a mark of 33.17m to finish in seventh-place.
·
Holly Buccheri took seventh-place in the shot put with a throw of 11.16m.
· In the javelin throw,
Alayna Fredenburg threw for a mark of 34.02m in her sixth attempt and it helped her solidify a fourth-place finish.
· Huynh impressed again with a third-place finale in the long jump, hitting a distance of 5.44m.
·
Olivia George nabbed second-place in the hammer throw with a mark of 49.97m.
UP NEXT –
The Golden Eagles season is not done yet as they will travel to Swarthmore College for a Last Chance meet on Monday, May 13. The competition is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
