Pittsford, NY – The College at Brockport women's tennis team was back at St. John Fisher on Sunday to finish up a previously postponed matchup with the Cardinals. The Green and Gold came away with a 5-4 win, improving to 3-2 on the season.
Doubles play was completed back on Sept. 6
th when the matchup first began, with Brockport sweeping duos competition 3-0.
Caroline Stewart and
Sarah Mahar won first doubles, 8-2. The pairing of
Elizabeth Bean and
Linda Coleman-Lawrence took the match point in the second slot, 8-4. Finally, in the third doubles matchup
Andrea Banke and
Emily Gross took care of business with an 8-2 win.
In the third singles heat,
Andrea Banke came up big with a 6-1, 6-3 win to secure the match point.
Elizabeth Bean won a highly contested battle in the fourth singles slot 7-6, 7-6 in order to seal the win for the team.
The Golden Eagles will get back to SUNYAC play on Tuesday, as they travel to face Geneseo. The match will begin at 3 pm.
