CORTLAND, NY – The College at Brockport men's soccer lost its SUNYAC opener on the road at Cortland, 4-1, on Friday afternoon.
Zach Langelotti netted the lone goal of the contest for the Golden Eagles.
Brockport (5-3-1, 0-1-0) looks to get back on track on the road Saturday when they continue the SUNYAC schedule with a key matchup against Oswego at 1 p.m. Cortland, which is receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches Association National Poll, moved its record to 5-2-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.
Cortland came out of the gates quick and netted the first two goals of the contest to take a 2-0 lead. Anthony Ruggiero scored the opener, his fifth of the year, while Jake Keller added the second goal less than two minutes apart.
Langelotti cut the deficit in half and made it a 2-1 contest when he netted his fourth of the year off an assist from
Matthew Stefaniw at the 27:01 marker. Langelott's four goals this season rank second on the team. Stefaniw continues his rise up the collegiate ranks and currently leads the team with 15 points on five goals and five assists this season.
Cortland added two second half tallies to pull away from the Golden Eagles. Derek Beers scored his first of the season, while Anthony Ruggiero netted his second of the day and sixth of the year to close out the scoring at 84:34.

Tautis Poniskaitis stopped six shots in the loss, while Sean Kelly made five saves between the pipes for the Red Dragons.
Cortland outshot Brockprot 10-7 on the day and also earned a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.
