OSWEGO, NY – The College at Brockport men's soccer team dropped a tough 1-0 decision in SUNYAC play on the road Saturday at Oswego. The Golden Eagles earned a 21-14 advantage in shots and also had 12 corner kick chances compared to the Laker's six.
However, Caleb Asamoah cashed in on a penalty kick after a foul in the box at 55:58 of the second half to lift the Lakers to victory.
Brockport (5-4-1, 0-2 SUNYAC) has lost two in a row and saw its SUNYAC record fall to 0-2 to start conference play. The Golden Eagles will be happy to return home on Friday when they host Potsdam for a SUNYAC matchup at 4 p.m. Friday's home match against the Bears marks the end of a four game road trip for the Golden Eagles. Oswego improved to 7-3 overall and remains unbeaten in league play (2-0).
Tautis Poniskaitis stopped five shots in net for Brockport, while Brian Terra made seven saves in net for the Lakers.
