BROCKPORT, N.Y. – The College at Brockport volleyball team swept Plattsburgh State in three straight sets Friday night, picking up their fifth win of the season. The Golden Eagles win puts them at an even 1-1 in league play, with their second conference opponent on deck tomorrow, SUNY Potsdam.
The Green and Gold's offense settled into a groove right from the start, notching 14 kills and only two errors in the first set to secure a dominating 25-13 win. The trend continued into the second set, with
Shelby Budnick giving the Golden Eagles a strong lead from the start, posting two service aces in a six-point run.
Andrea Coyle was the next to provide momentum for the Green and Gold in similar fashion, also recording two service aces in a five-point run to secure win number two, 25-14. The Golden Eagles then added 13 more kills to the list in set number three, allowing them to take home a 25-18 finish and a strong win on the night.

Andrea Coyle led the team offensively posting 10, eight and seven kills respectively with help from
Kerri McHale and
Abbey Manning who notched 31 collective assists on the night. Defensively,
Ellen Paddock and Mastro controlled the floor, notching 27 of the teams 35 digs. The Golden Eagles finished the night with a .263 hitting percentage and 40 total kills while seeing five different players with a .400 hitting percentage or above.
The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow for their second conference opponent of the weekend as they welcome SUNY Potsdam to the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium for a 1 p.m. start.
