ELMIRA, NY – The College at Brockport men's soccer team won its third straight game on Saturday as the Golden Eagles topped host Elmira College 2-0 in non-conference action. Brockport has now outscored its opponents by a combined score of 12-1 in three consecutive victories.

Brockport (3-1) returns to the pitch on Wednesday evening when it travels to St. John Fisher College to take on the Cardinals at 4 p.m.

The offensive damage all surfaced in a span of less than three minutes for the Golden Eagles.  Senior Jason Hayes got the visitors on the board first when he netted his first of the young season at the 21:30 marker.  Matthew Stefaniw was credited with the assist as Hayes collected the Stefaniw pass and curled a bullet into the right side of the net past Elmira goalie Giovanni Garufi.

Just 2:38 later Elmira was booked with a foul in the box and senior Jeff Hibbard once again converted the PK to hand the Golden Eagles a commanding 2-0 lead.  Hibbard has three goals this season, all via penalty kicks. Four of the Golden Eagles 14 goals this season have come by way of a successful PK.

Hibbard and Stefaniw are currently tied for the team lead with eight points this season on three goals and two assists.

Joseph Romano made one save in net for the Golden Eagles as he picked up his first win of the season.  Over the course of their last three wins the Golden Eagle defense has surrendered just five shots on target. 

Brockport commanded play in the contest and out shot the Soaring Eagles 22-3 on the afternoon.  Brockport also secured a 10-2 advantage in corner kick opportunities.
