Ithaca, NY – The College at Brockport indoor track and field team competed at the Ithaca College Quad Meet on Saturday. Both the men and the women took second place at the meet, with 58 and 54 points respectively.
The men's throwers swept the top five spots in the shot put on the day, securing 11 team points in the event.
Tony DeYoung's throw of 16.25 meters took first,
Art Jordan took second with a throw of 14.62 meters,
Matt Faulise placed third with a mark of 14.45, while
John Demy and
Elijah Washington took fourth and fifth.
Egypt Page won the long jump event with a leap of 7.14 meters in the event. Teammates
Brandon Leiter and
Kieran Pagano took second and third in the long jump with distances of 6.29 and 6.17 meters.
Taj Shaw took first in the triple jump with a distance of 13.90 meters, while
Egypt Page placed second with his mark of 12.63 meters in the event. Leiter took third with a clearance height of 1.85 meters in the high jump event.
Mike Panzarino and
Lamar Reeves finished fourth and fifth in the high jump.
In the 3,000-meter race
Gerard Connelly finished in 8:53.22 for second place.
Sean Kuehn and
Marius Sidlauskas weren't far behind, securing third and fourth in the event. The trio secured six points for the Green and Gold from the race.
Egypt Page ran a time of 7.09 in the 60-meter dash to earn first place.
In the 60-meter hurdles, Leiter took second place with a time of 8.73, was teammate
Mike Panzarino was fourth with a time of 9.03. Chris Weiner cleared a height of 4.25 meters in the pole vault event to steal second place.
The Golden Eagles are back in action next weekend for the home Golden Eagle Invitational. The meet is scheduled for 10 am at the Special Events Recreation Center that Saturday.
