DeYoung and Page Break Records at RIT on Busy Track & Field Friday

Rochester, NY – The SUNY Brockport track and field team is on the road this weekend competing at the RIT Late February Invitational and at the David Hemery Invite hosted by Boston University.

Tony DeYoung set a new indoor school record with a shot put distance of 17.69 meters to take first place. Matt Faulise and Art Jordan finished second and third in the event. In the women's shot put, Sarah Crockett threw a distance of 12.99 meters to placed second while teammate Mady Dibble was third with a toss of 12.39 meters.
 
Egypt Page broke the school indoor long jump record for the third time this season with his first-place distance of 7.49 meters. Halle King took second in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.53 meters.
 
The second ranked men's throws squad in the country demonstrated its value by sweeping the top six spots in the weight throw. DeYoung's throw of 15.77 meters earned first place, as Faulise Christian Johnson, Mike Makowski, Elijah Washington and John Demy finished second through sixth.
 
The women's weight throw was dominated by Brockport as well, with Alayne Fredenburg, Sarah Crockett and Olivia George taking the top three slots. Fredenbrug's first place distance was 15.71 meters.
 
Taj Shaw, Egypt Page, and Kieran Pagano went one/two/three in the triple jump event. On the women's side Chanyce Powell and Mia Montgomery placed first and second in the triple jump with distances of 11.31 and 10.97 meters respectively.
 
Maya Reina and Reanne Dressler took first and second in the Pole Vault event. Reina cleared a height of 3.66 meters, while Dressler cleared 3.35 meters. Christopher Weiner won the men's pole vault with a winning clearance mark of 4.55 meters.
 
Daniel Heil and Cody Mooney finished second and fourth in the men's mile race with times of 4:33.39 and 4:40.37. Egypt Page and Olivier Kothor ran times of 7.04 and 7.08 to place first and second in the 60-meter dash.
 
Kaleigh Hildreth placed second in the 3,000-meter run for the women, clocking in at 11:59.11.
 
David Hemery Invite:
 
In the 21st heat of the 800-meter event Molly Kabza finished third with a time of 2:27.02.
 
Brianna Lawless won the 28th section of the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.57, which ranked 97th out of 213 competitors in the event. Lawless also took second in the 31st heat of the 200-meter event, placing 96th out of 295 runners with a time of 25.96.
 
The men's distance medley relay team of Humberto Wallace Jr., Mike Young, Jason Page, and Marius Sidlauskas took fourth place in the second heat of the event with a time of 10:28.60.
 
Day two of the David Hemery Invite is set for Saturday, starting at 9 am.
