Another OT Win Gives Brockport its 15th Straight

Oswego, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team defeated Oswego, 85-80, in another overtime contest on Saturday. Brockport extends its win streak to 15 games to close out the regular season.
 
With a record of 22-3 overall and 17-1 in SUNYAC play, Head Coach Greg Dunne compiles his best conference mark since taking over the program.
 
Jahidi Wallace led the way again with a double-double, coming on 23 points and 11 rebounds. Tyler Sullivan was huge off the bench, scoring 22 points from his reserve role.
 
Tyler Sullivan exploded for 13 points off the bench in the first half, providing some much-needed scoring. In the opening half the team shot 51.6% from the field, while keeping Oswego to just 32.1% shooting. The Green and Gold was tied with Oswego, 24-24, with eight minutes on the clock in the first half. Brockport gave up just four points for the rest of the period, taking a 42-28 lead going into the locker room.
 
As the second half began, Oswego starting to slowly chip away at the lead. A pair of shots from downtown for the Lakers made it a three-point game approaching the midway point of the second. It would stay tight the rest of the way, as the Golden Eagles were up just one point with 4:40 left in regulation. Oswego would hit a clutch 3-pointer with 13 seconds on the clock to tie the score up at 74-74 and sending the game to overtime.
 
Wallace and Sullivan would combine to score all 11 of Brockport's points in overtime, outlasting Oswego on the road. This marks the team's second overtime win in a row, after defeating Cortland in overtime on Friday.
 
The Golden Eagles are now preparing to host a SUNYAC Tournament Semi-Final game, scheduled for Friday, February 28th. Their opponent will be the winner of the first-round matchup of Oswego versus Cortland.
