Women's Hoops Travels to Geneseo Tuesday Night for 1st Round of SUNYAC Tournament

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team is set to take on Geneseo Tuesday night for the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament. Brockport travels to Geneseo for a 7 pm tip-off.

Rosbrook Goes Off: In the regular season finale Kylee Rosbrook dominated with a career-high 30 points and 13 rebounds to notch a double-double. Brockport defeated Oswego, 81-73, finishing the regular season with a record of 11-14 overall and 8-10 in conference play. Rosbrook shot 9-for-13 in the first half, scoring 22 of her game-high 30 before halftime. It was her fourth double-double of the season, leading the team to victory right before SUNYACs.

Sordetto's Big Night: Serena Sordetto put together the best performance of her collegiate career against Cortland, recording her first career double-double. The freshman forward tied her career-best mark of 11 points and matched it with a career-high 11 boards in the loss. She did most of her damage at the foul line, going 7-for-8 at the charity stripe.

SUNYAC Championships: With New Paltz claiming the top spot in the conference, the SUNYAC Semis and Finals will be hosted by the Hawks. New Paltz and Cortland get first-round byes, while Buffalo State hosts Oneonta and Geneseo hosts Brockport for round one. It all gets started on Tuesday night with the first-round matchups.

Tournament History: The Golden Eagles have four SUNYAC Titles in program history with their most recent championships coming back-to-back in 2008 and 2009. Going into a SUNYAC Quarterfinal matchup on Tuesday, the team is 13-9 all-time in quarterfinal games in the conference tournament. Brockport is 5-10 in school history in the SUNYAC Semi-Finals and 4-1 in the SUNYAC Title game.

Recent Years in the Tournament: This is the fifth straight season the Green and Gold has earned passage into the conference tournament. The team has advanced past the first-round last season, defeating Cortland 55-53 on the road before falling the New Paltz in the semis. In the 2017 SUNYAC Tournament Brockport took down Oneonta, 70-64, in the quarterfinal before losing to New Paltz in the semis, 64-48.

Brockport v. Geneseo: This will be the third game of the year between Brockport and Geneseo, as the teams split the regular season series 1-1. The Golden Eagles defeated Geneseo, 63-56, in the first matchup to grab their first win over the Knights in four years. The second time around was all Geneseo, as the Knights hot shooting gave them the 71-59 victory. Geneseo has played well down the stretch, closing the regular season with a five-game win streak. Brockport enters the tournament after splitting its last four regular season contests. This will be just the fifth time in SUNYAC Tournament history that these two teams have met in the bracket. Geneseo holds the historical advantage with a 3-1 mark against Brockport in tournament play.

Do or Die: Now that the postseason has arrived it is win or go home from here on out. A win over Geneseo will push Brockport into the SUNYAC Semi-Finals against New Paltz this weekend, but a loss will mean the team's season has come to an end.
