Coach Wagner Gets 100th Win as Brockport Head Coach in Win at Clarkson

Potsdam, NY – The #18 SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team defeated Clarkson University, 11-9, on Wednesday to move to 2-1 on the season. With the win, Head Coach Stephen Wagner has now earned his 100th victory as the leader of the program at Brockport.

Heather Conklin continues to move up in the record books after finishing today's game with six goals and one assist. Conklin is now fifth all-time with 208 career points and third all-time with 167 career goals.

Freshman attack Natalie Strough is also picking up right where she left off, scoring three more goals against Clarkson. She now has six goals and two assists for a total of eight points just three games into her collegiate career.

Goalie Morgan Elmer got the win in net today, making 13 saves in the contest. She played all 60 minutes for the Green and Gold against Clarkson.

The two teams went back and forth on the scoreboard in the first half, trading goals for the first 30 minutes. At halftime, the score was tied at 4-4.

Clarkson would take a quick lead early on in the second half, but the nationally ranked Golden Eagles would respond. Conklin scored three straight goals and Strough added one of her own to give Brockport an 8-7 lead with 11:28 remaining. Clarkson would tie the game up inside of 10 minutes. However, a trio of Brockport goals would make the difference down the stretch, as the team took a two-goal victory.

The Golden Eagles are back in action this weekend when they travel to face nationally ranked Salisbury University. Saturday's game is set to begin at 11 am.
