Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team will host SUNY Canton on Tuesday afternoon for its final home contest of the regular season. It is also the team's final non-conference match of the year, beginning at 3 pm.
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles fell at home, 3-0, to Cortland in their last match. The visiting Red Dragons scored late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead before the mid-game break. They added a second goal early on in the second half and an own goal by Brockport in the final minutes sealed the game. The loss puts Brockport at 5-6-2 overall and 2-2-1 in the conference as the regular season winds down.
 
Final Stretch: After Tuesday's non-conference match with Canton, the Green and Gold will have just four games left on the schedule. All four remaining contests are SUNYAC competitions, as the squad looks to make a final push for a spot in the postseason. Brockport will be on the road for the rest of the regular season as it travels for matchups with Plattsburgh, Potsdam, Fredonia, and Buffalo State. The SUNYAC Tournament is coming up fast, as it will begin on October 30^th.
 
SUNYAC Standings: The Golden Eagles find themselves in the middle of the pack in the conference standings, as their 2-2-1 mark has earned them seven points in the standings. Plattsburgh sits at the top with 15 points, while Geneseo and Cortland are close behind with 13 points each. Fredonia and New Paltz both have nine points, meaning one win from Brockport can put the team over those two in the standings. Oswego and Potsdam are on the heels of the Green and Gold with six points, while Oneonta and Buffalo State are at the bottom of the standings.
 
Team Leaders: All with four goals on the season, Julia Mascaro, Kiley Longin, and Katie Hotaling lead the team in scoring. Mascaro sits alone at first on the team with 12 points, thanks to having a team-best four assists. Sydnee Smith is second in both goals and assists, with three and two respectively. Sophia DeAngelo also has two assists from her position on the backline. Lara Kanbur and Brylie Hapeman each have found the back of the net twice this season.
 
Between the Pipes: Kayla Usborne has been the leading goalkeeper so far this season, making 10 starts in net for the Green and Gold. Usborne is top five in the SUNYAC with 51 saves and has recorded three clean sheets. Guliana Parisi and Victoria Cangialosi have both seen some run in net as well this season. The two have combined for 16 saves, three starts, and seven appearances. Additionally, the team recently added Morgan Lupo to the roster to provide more depth at the goalkeeper position.
 
Looking at Canton: This match was rescheduled from its original date back on September 13^th, as Canton enters this meeting with a 2-8-1 mark overall. The Roos have lost three in a row now with all of these matches played on the road, as they now own a 1-5 record away from home. During this span Canton has been outscored by its opponents, 12-0. In 2019 when these two teams faced off, Brockport took the win on the road, 2-0.
