Brockport, NY – The Brockport men's soccer team will host visiting Plattsburgh State on Friday, October 15th at 3 p.m. Following Friday's contest, the men will host SUNY Potsdam the following day at 1 p.m. for Senior Day. Senior Day events will take place approximately 25 minutes prior to kickoff. Seven seniors will be honored for their time and commitment to the Golden Eagle's soccer program. The seven seniors are made up of
Jacob Wlostowski, Matt Stefaniw,
Zach Langelotti,
Noah Mohamed,
Wilson Wong,
Alex Fusani and Ben Kinsolow.
In the team's last contest, The SUNY Brockport Men's Soccer team upset the number 10 ranked team in the nation SUNY Cortland in Double OT on Saturday afternoon by a score of 3-2.
Nick Van Wie scored his first goal of the season while
Matthew Stefaniw tallied two goals in the game including the double OT game winner.
Andrew Taylor had a game in net making a career high 13 saves against 27 shots faced. His efforts were able to claim him the Prestosports SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week. Taylor's big game came Saturday when he recorded the win for the Golden Eagles against Cortland and spending a total of 210 in goal between Friday and Saturday contests. Taylor now ranks third in the league with 44 total saves this season. He has a 5-5-1 overall record in goal for the Golden Eagles.
Looking at the team's history against Plattsburgh, the Golden Eagles hold a 7-4 overall record against the Cardinals in the past decade with a 4-2 home record in that time span. The cardinals are 4-7-1 overall this year with a conference record of 1-4-1. In its most recent game, Plattsburgh defeated Fredonia 2-1 Saturday afternoon. Brian Coughlan is the is the Cardinals leading goal scorer and points leader accumulating six goals on four assists for a total of 16 points. Teddy Healy has started all 12 games for Plattsburgh allowing 19 goals on 117 shots faced for a goal against average of 1.64.
Looking at Potsdam, prior to its matchup with the Golden Eagles, the Bears will travel to SUNY Geneseo Friday afternoon to take on the Knights in a 3 pm matchup. The bears are currently 2-9-2 overall and 0-6 in SUNYAC play. Sebastian Matos is the team's leading goal scorer with two goals this season and tied with Zach Saddlemire for points with four total this season made up of four assists. Conor Callan has started all 13 games for the Bears this season picking up 49 saves on 152 shots faced while allowing 22 goals.

Following this weekend's contests, the men's soccer team will host a pair of games on Homecoming Weekend against Fredonia on Friday, October 22 and 3 p.m. and Buffalo State on Saturday at 6 p.m..
