Ithaca, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's swim and dive team competed at the Ithaca Tri Meet on Saturday to begin the season. The team defeated Buffalo State 139-126 and lost to Ithaca 54-238, opening the year at 1-1.
Oliver Dragojevic took second place in the 50-yard breaststroke event with his final time of 28.47. He also earned a third-place finish with a time of 1:02.81 in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Diver
Mark Eaton put up a score of 249.35 on the 3-meter diving board for second place. With 255.50 points, he took second in the 1-meter diving event.
Kurt Mueller was right behind Eaton in both diving events, placing third on both boards.
The 400-yard medley relay team had a top five finish on the day with a time of 3:58.45. The relay squad consists of
Matthew Chan,
Oliver Dragojevic,
Billy Tolpa, and
Colin Janis.
Clocking in at 3:39.42 the team of Janis, Chan, Eaton, and Tolpa took fourth in the 400-yard freestyle relay.
Tolpa and Chan also had top five finishes individually, both placing fourth in the 50-yard freestyle and 200-yard freestyle respectively.
The Golden Eagles compete in their home pool the next time out, as they play host to Oneonta. The dual meet is set to begin at 1 pm on Saturday, October 30
th.
