Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport swim and dive team is at home this weekend for a dual meet with Oneonta. The action gets started in the pool at 1 pm in the James B. Fulton Natatorium.

Last Time Out: Brockport last competed on Saturday, October 16
th when the team head to Ithaca College for the Ithaca Tri-Meet. Brockport, Ithaca, and Buffalo State all participated at the competition that weekend. The squad went 1-1 against its two opponents with a win over the Bengals and a loss to the hosting Bombers.
Get to the Pool: Saturday's home dual meet is one of just two times all season that the Green and Gold will be competing in the home pool. This will be the first home meet for the squad since hosting Fredonia back on February 1
st, 2020. The next and only other home competition for the swim and dive program this year will be held on January 28
th, 2022 against St. Lawrence University for Senior Day.
Diver of the Week: After competing in the first meet of her collegiate career,
Kyra Russ was recognized as the PrestoSports Women's Diver of the Week on October 17
th. The freshman did her part as the top performer for the women divers at the Ithaca Tri Meet. Russ placed fourth in the 3-meter diving event with a score of 199.50. She also earned a mark of 200.50 on the 1-meter diving board to take fifth in the event.
Men's Highlights: The men finished with a win over Buffalo State 139-126 and a loss to Ithaca 54-238 at the meet.
Oliver Dragojevic recorded a second-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke and took third in the 100-yard breaststroke. Diver
Mark Eaton was second in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events, while teammate
Kurt Mueller was right behind him in third for both. The 400-yard medley relay team consisting of
Matthew Chan,
Oliver Dragojevic,
Billy Tolpa, and
Colin Janis earned a top five finish with a time of 3:58.45.
Women's Highlights: Freshman
Elizabeth Sagan had a strong collegiate debut, taking second place in both the 50-yard and 100-yard freestyle races individually.
Hailey Rossi placed second in the 50-yard breaststroke, while
Bri Owen finished third in both the 50 and 100-yard butterfly. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of
Elizabeth Sagan,
Bri Owen,
Sawyer Parker, and
Nicole Orcutt took third with a time of 3:58.06. Parker, Owen, and Sagan were joined by
Allison Morrow to earn third in the 400-yard medley relay event. The women defeated Buffalo State 170-11 and took the loss to Ithaca 67-230.
What's Next: Following this weekend's action the Golden Eagles will begin to prepare for a short road trip to Monroe Community College on Saturday, November 6
th. This will also be a dual meet as the teams begin competition at 1 pm.
