Men's Soccer Drops 2OT Thriller to Oswego

Oswego, NY – The Brockport men' soccer team dropped an overtime thriller against the Oswego State Lakers on Friday night. With the loss, the Golden Eagles drop to 4-5-1 overall and 0-4 in SUNYAC Play. Oswego now advances to 5-2-4 overall and 4-0-1 in SUNYAC play.
 
In what seemed to be night that would end in a nil-nil draw after double overtime, Ryan Young of Oswego managed to net the game winning goal for the Lakers. The goal came at the 108:21 mark of the game.
 
The Green and Gold played well against its opponents who's been undefeated in conference play. Against the Lakers, Brockport had fired off 13 more than Oswego compared to its seven shots. Off of the 13 shots faced against Oswego only one was on goal versus Brockport's eight shots on goal. The Golden Eagles were the more disciplined team in tonight's matchup as well recording eight fouls with the Lakers picking up 14 total fouls and two yellow cards in the game.
 
Matthew Stefaniw and Noah Mohamed managed to lead the way for Brockport's offense as both recorded three shots with two shots on goal in the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Taylor spent the whole night in net for the Golden Eagle's as he managed to play the entire 110:00 minutes of play facing seven shots in the process.
 
Brockport will now prepare for tomorrows matchup against the #10 SUNY Cortland Red Dragons. The SUNYAC competition will take place at the T. Fred Holloway Field at 1 p.m.
