Senior Day: 20 minutes prior to Saturday's kickoff, the Golden Eagles will honor their 15 graduating seniors for their contributions to the program over the course of the last four seasons. The seniors include

Samuel Bergman. Over the course of the last four seasons Brockport has compiled a 39-8 overall record and a 22-3 mark in Empire 8 play. Brockport has won three Empire 8 titles and secured three NCAA Tournament bids in that span. In 2017, the Golden Eagles went 13-1 and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament.Â
Week 10 Recap: Brockport football lost to host Morrisville State 13-7 in Empire 8 Conference action last Saturday afternoon. Brockport's
Alaan Montgomery returned an interception 79 yards for a score with just 22 seconds left in the first half of play to give the Golden Eagles a 7-6 lead at the half. The Brockport defense held the Mustangs to just nine total first downs on the day and 211 yards overall.Â
Andrew Covais and
Ben Damiani each led the way for the Golden Eagles with nine tackles. Damiani also added a pass breakup, while Covais posted 1.5 tackles for a loss.Â
Ben Robinson chipped in with eight tackles, while
Josh Greenwood and
Ben Marshall each added six tackles.
Louis Usera led all Bport receivers with six catches for 52 yards, while
James Altenburger added two catches for 38 yards.

Where We Stand: Brockport has won three of its last four games and is currently 6-3 overall and 3-2 in Empire 8 play this season. The Golden Eagles topped Framingham 31-0 on the road in the season opener. Brockport then fell to visiting and nationally ranked Ithaca College 23-8 before defeating visiting Rochester 16-7 at home in week three. Following a bye week, the Golden Eagles topped Fisher on the road 34-7 in Courage Bowl XVI before falling to nationally ranked Cortland on the road. The Golden Eagles topped Utica 24-16 for their fourth win of the season before downing Hartwick on Homecoming. Bport's sixth win of the season came two Saturday's ago at Buffalo State before falling to Morrisville on the road last weekend.

All-Time Against Alfred: Brockport is 11-31-3 all-time against the Saxons with the series beginning in 1949. Brockport has won three straight against the Saxons, outscoring them 103-32 in the three game stretch. The Golden Eagles topped Alfred 16-7 to secure its third straight Empire 8 Conference crown at home back in 2019.
Potential ECAC Bid: Brockport is one of 18 teams in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference to have declared to participate in an ECAC Bowl Game this postseason as of Wednesday. Other familiar New York programs that have declared include Hobart, Utica, Alfred and RPI. Three ECAC Bowl Games will take placed on November 20
th at campus sites. Teams will be notified of selection on November 15
th and the matchups will be posted online at ecacsports.com. The ECAC selection committee will meet following the NCAA selection show to determine the participating programs.

Last Meeting Against Alfred: Brockport joined elite territory in its last meeting against Alfred back in 2019, becoming just the second program in the 18-year history of the Empire 8 Conference to win three consecutive titles. The Golden Eagles earned the conference's automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Championship courtesy of a 16-7 victory over visiting Alfred in 2019.  Brockport's conference clinching win over Alfred came courtesy of a gutsy effort by the defense, two scores from running back
Jala Coad, and an incredible 11:28 fourth quarter possession that took 21 plays and spanned 84 yards. The clock eating drive resulted in an insurance field goal for the Golden Eagles (24 yards) from the foot of senior Dustin Moyle to put the home team on top 16-7. Brockport's defense forced a turnover on downs on the next possession to lock up the victory and the Empire 8 crystal. Coad finished the day with 26 carries for 81 yards and two scores.

1,000 Yard Rusher: Junior running back
Jala Coad is among some of the top running backs in the country in several statistical category's this season. He has been named the Empire 8 Conference Offensive Player of the Week three times for his efforts. He has at least one touchdown in eight of nine games this season. He is head and shoulders above the competition in the Empire 8 in rushing yards with 416 more yards rushing than his closest competitor. He has now eclipsed his career-high in rushing yards in a single season with 1,078, in three less games. Coad now has 35 career rushing touchdowns and three receiving TD's. His 2,627 career rushing yards ranks sixth all-time at Brockport.

In The National Spotlight: Brockport's defense ranks second nationally with 21 interceptions and they also rank third nationally in rushing defense, holding opponents to an average of just 43.9 yards rushing per contest. The Golden Eagles rank fourth nationally and first in the conference having allowed just 104 first downs all season. Brockport has allowed an average of just 203.2 total yards per game, which ranks seventh nationally. Brockport ranks 12th nationally and second in the Empire 8 with a 3rd down conversion percentage defense of .265.

Ball Hawk: Alaan Montgomery ranks third nationally with seven interceptions this season. He needs just two more to tie the program's single season record of nine which was set by John Banek in 1990 and again by Tom Massey in 1997. Montgomery returned an INT 79 yards for a score last weekend against Morrisville. Montgomery has six interceptions in the last six games for the Golden Eagles. He has ten INTs over the course of the last two full seasons.

All-American Candidate: Sophomore defensive back
Raylens Boutin, the 2019 Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, ranks 18th nationally and is tied for first in the league with an average of 1.4 passes defended per game this season. He is tied with Montgomery for the Empire 8 lead with 13 passes defended (eight break ups, five INTs).

Awards SZN: Jala Coad has been named the Offensive Player of the Week three times this season, while
Lawrence Jenkins earned Defensive Player of the Week once. Coad also earned a spot on the D3football.com National Team of the Week earlier this season. Freshman kicker
Nate Wigent was named the Empire 8 Special Teams Player of the Week following his performance in the win over Hartwick.

Primary Target: Senior receiver
Imhotep Cromer ranks in the top 50 nationally and first in the league with an average of 6.0 receptions per game. He ranks second the E8 with 635 receiving yards for an average of 70.6 yards per game. He has caught seven or more balls in five of nine games, including a season-high 10 in Brockport's season opening win over Framingham. He caught his second touchdown of the season two Saturday's ago at Buffalo State.

Through The Uprights: Freshman kicker
Nate Wigent ranks 36th nationally and second in the conference with an average of 1.00 field goals per game. His .800 field goal percentage this season ranks in the top 15 nationally. He has made at least one field goal in 6-of-9 games this year, including a career-long 43 yarder in the season opener at Framingham. He is also 24-for-26 on extra point opportunities this year and he ranks second on the team with 48 total points.

Jack Cheshire ranks third in the Empire 8 with 143 completions this season. He also ranks third in the league with 1,445 yards passing. He has thrown six touchdown passes in his first season in the green and gold.

Ben Damiani leads the team with 61 total tackles this season. He has 28 solo tackles and one interception for the Golden Eagle defense.

Captains of the Ship: Brockport's three captains for this season include senior offensive lineman
Luke Lodini, and senior linebacker's
Lawrence Jenkins and
Andrew Covais. Jenkins is a two-time Empire 8 All-Conference selection, while Covais earned all-conference honorable mention in 2019. Lodini was a 2021 D3football.com Preseason All-American First Team pick for the Golden Eagles.

Meet the Sideline General: Head Coach
Jason Mangone posted his 64th career victory following Brockport's win over Buffalo State two weekends ago. He now has a 64-25 overall record. Following the 2019 season, Mangone and his coaching staff became the first group to earn three consecutive Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year honors in the 19-year history of the conference. Mangone has been named the AFCA Region I Coach of the Year in two of the last three seasons. Mangone and his staff have compiled a 39-8 overall record in the last four seasons. In 2017 he was named the AFCA National Coach of the Year after guiding the Golden Eagles to the semifinals of the NCAA Div. III Championships.

Meet the Saxons: Alfred is currently 5-4 overall and 4-1 in Empire 8 play this season. The Saxons have won five of their last six games after starting the season 0-3. They defeated Utica College at home last weekend by the score of 24-17. Alfred is coached by Bob Rankl who was hired as head coach of the Saxons in May of 2014. He has been an assistant coach at Alfred since 1999. In 2016 he was named the Empire 8 Coach of the Year and the East Region Coach of the Year. Zuke Smith is listed as the starting QB. He has completed 68-of-172 passes for 769 yards and four touchdowns. Max Freeman is Alfred's starting running back and he has 104 carries for 563 yards and three touchdowns this season. Joe Copp is Alfred's leading tackler with 91. He also has eight pass breakups and two picks this season. Christopher Cox ranks second on the team with 85 tackles. Rodney Bailey leads the team with six sacks.
