The first set was tight most of the way, as the score was tied at 11-11 halfway through the game. Brockport would score six straight points to take a crucial 17-12 lead as the set progressed. The team would keep Geneseo at a distance as it marched on to take the first match point, 25-17.

Sets number two and three resulted in an identical score of 25-22, in favor of the Geneseo Knights. Close all the way through both sets, the score ended up being tied a combined total of 11 times and featured five lead changes. Squeezing out to close set victories, Brockport trailed 2-1 going into the fourth set.

Needing the win to stay alive, the Golden Eagles earned a slight advantage with a 14-10 lead midway through the game. They would maintain a lead all the way through despite Geneseo fighting to stay in it. The Green and Gold scored eight of the last nine points to secure the game victory at 25-17, forcing a fifth set.

Playing to 15 in the fifth and final game, the scoreboard featured four different ties and two lead changes. Geneseo took a quick 4-1 lead, but Brockport eventually took control of the momentum to seize a 9-6 edge. Trailing 12-9, Geneseo would score six out of seven points to come from behind and earn the 15-13 win and seal the 3-2 victory of the SUNYAC Semifinal match.

Brockport's SUNYAC postseason run comes to an end, while Geneseo moves on to face the winner of the New Paltz-Cortland matchup. The SUNYAC Championship match will take place at Cortland on Saturday at 4 pm.

The Golden Eagles stand at 17-10 overall on the season, and rank fifth in the New York region in the latest NCAA Division III Regional Rankings. With an automatic bid no longer available, they await the possibility of an at-large bid into the 2021 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament that begins on November 11th.
