Utica, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's and women's indoor track and field program competed in its first meet on Saturday at the Utica College Holiday Classic.

Both The Brockport men's and women's teams finished the day in first place as the men compiled up a leading team score of 127.5 while the women gathered a huge lead of 166. The women's field athletes managed to combine for a total of 106 point in the meet.
Throws: Sarah Crockett managed to claim first place in the weight throw as she threw for a total of 15.44. Emma Kinnicutt picked up a third place finish with a distance of 14.67m
The Golden Eagle's also claimed three top five finishers in the shot put event with Sarah Crockett claiming first place reaching 12.91m. Emma Kinnicutt claimed a third place finish with a throw of 11.54m while Maleenah Ortiz claimed fourth place with a mark of 10.46m
For the men's throws, they too claimed three spots in the top five of the shot put as
Art Jordan took home first place with 15.70m,
Alex Rood claimed a second place finish with 15.43m and
Elijah Washington rounded out the top five in fifth place with a total distance of 14.19m
Jumps: The women's jumpers claimed a second and third place finish in the long jump as Chanyce Powell leaped for 5.05m for a second place finish while Mia Montgomery was right behind her in third place with a mark of 5.04m
Powell and Montgomery both earned top five finished in the triple jump too. Powell took home the gold with a mark of 11.62m as Montgomery picked up a fourth place finish with a measurement of 10.58m.
For the Men, Reigning Defending NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Long Jump National Champion
Egypt Page took home a first place finish in the long jump as he flew for 7.27m.
Derek Edick was the only Golden Eagle to finish within the top five of the men's triple jump as he jumped for a mark of 12.76m.
The women's high jumpers claimed two top five finishers with Michaela Levesque jumped her way into second place clearing a height of 1.62m as Sarah Killip tied for third at the 1.51m mark. Joe Gefell finished in fourth place for the men's high jumpers as he cleared a mark of 1.78m.
Pole Vault: four out of the top five finishers in the women's pole vaulting event were Golden Eagles. Mya Henry took home second place with a height of 2.90, Tess Eichner third with a 2.90 mark, Ciara Murphy fourth with a mark of 2.75m and Gillian Laco took home fifth with 2.60m. Hunter Czajkowski finished sixth in the event with 2.45m and Madison Baker claimed seventh with 2.30m.
Distance: In the men's 5000m,
Thomas Kressly took home a first place finish with a time of 16:00.82 as Veronica Dailey of the Women's team claimed a third place finish at a mark of 19.49.17.
In the Men's Mile, Brockport's
Jonathan Zavala took home a first place finish with a total time of 4:27.70. Zavala also claimed first place in the Men's 800m race with a time of 2:01.06.
For the women's 800m, Jennifer Metz took home third place with a time of 2:30.94.
In the men's 600m,
Nick Markle raced his way to a first place finish of 1:25.49. the women's 600m competitors had two finishers in the top five as Kaylee Haynes finished in second place with a time of 1:42.16. Lucia Sibley finished just behind her in third place with a time of 1:44.05.
For the women's 400m race Marissa Wise of the Green and Gold took home second place recording a time of 1:01.93
Sprints: The women's 300m saw Rhea Winter pick up a third place finish running a time of 44.38s.
In the men's 200m,
Olivier Kothor claimed third place as he ran a time of 22.42s. Kothor also picked up a second place finish in the 60m dash with a new personal best time of 6.89s in the event.
Egypt Page claimed a fifth place finish in the same event as he ran the dash in a time of 7.07s.
Kelsie Neldrett claimed a first place finish in the women's 60m hurdles with a time of 9.72s while
Blake James of the men's team recorded a fourth place finish with a finishing time of 8.94s.
Relays: in the women's 4x400m relay, Brockport's team of Lucia Sibley, Kaylee Haynes, Jennifer Metz and Ashley Martinez picked up second place finish with a time of 4:12.38. for the men's 4x400,
Jordan Cancel,
Blaze McKinney,
Caleb Carr and
Matthew Then finished the race sixth out of 13 teams with a time of 3:59.81.
The Women's 2x200 saw the team of Sarah Levine, Rhea Winter, Sabrina Donoghue, and Marissa Wise take home first place with 1:51.18.
Brockport will host its next meet on Saturday, January 22nd at the 2022 Brockport Invitational help at the Special Events Recreation Center (SERC) at 10 a.m.
