Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Brockport Wins Fourth Straight on the Road at Houghton

HOUGHTON, NY -- The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team is now unbeaten in five straight games as the Golden Eagles topped host Houghton College 3-2 on Tuesday night in non-conference action. Junior Josh Fitzpatrick netted a collegiate best two goals in the victory for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport has won four of its last five games and improved to 4-1-1 overall on the season. Brockport started the season with five straight home contests and began its six-game road trip with a win at Houghton on Tuesday night.  The Golden Eagles return to the pitch in ten days when they travel to New Paltz to open SUNYAC Conference play on Sept. 24th at 4 p.m. Houghton's record moved to 0-5-0 overall on the season.

Fitzpatrick started the scoring late in the first half when he netted his first goal in the green and gold with just four seconds to go in the first half of action to put the Golden Eagles on top 1-0.  Houghton netted the equalizer just over 15 minutes into the second half when Brice Bogna beat Brockport goalie Andrew Taylor to make the score 1-1.  Taylor finished the day with three saves in net for Brockport.

Fitzpatrick then found the back of the net once again in the 71st minute off an assist from Hunter Kassel to give the Golden Eagles a lead they would not relinquish.  Colby Egan then tallied his first collegiate goal for Brockport just over five minutes later to hand Brockport a commanding 3-1 advantage.

Bogna made it interesting when he scored his second of the night in the 84th minute, but it proved to be too late as the Golden Eagles came away with a one goal victory.

Brockport outshot the home team 12-8 on the day. Joshua Ludolph stopped eight shots in goal for the Highlanders.

Brockport will now embark on a stretch of nine straight conference contests as the Golden Eagles look to jockey for a spot in the SUNYAC Conference Tournament.
