Men's Soccer Comes Up Short on the Road

The SUNY Brockport Men's soccer team dropped its second conference game against Oneonta in Saturday afternoons contest. Brockport (4-3-1,0-2) dropped its second conference contest of the year while Oneonta (6-0-1,2-0) managed to pick up its second conference win while remaining undefeated.
 
Following a scoreless first half which saw Oneonta outshoot Brockport 10-2, three minutes into the second half of the contest, Oneonta would net the first goal of the game as Ethan Brunell made a long pass into the box to set up Matt Howe for the goal. At the 65:10 mark of the game Lucas Fecci would put the Red Dragons up 2-0 with an assist by Howe which was set up off a saved shot by Brockport's goalie Andrew Taylor, only to be rebounded for the goal.
 
To end the game Brockport managed to record a spectacular highlight reel goal with 37 second remain. Following a goalie kick from Taylor which landed he placed right into the box, Hunter Kassel received the pass off his chest while flicking the ball over his head behind him to be perfect placed in the goal narrowing the Golden Eagles deficit to one before time expired.
 
In the game, Taylor faced a career tying 10 shots against him for the second game in a row while making also recording a season high of eight saves.
 
The men will return to action on Saturday, October second where they'll travel to SUNY Geneseo for a 4 p.m. contest to continue SUNYAC play.
