Brockport Travels to Face U of R Under the Lights

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's soccer team will travel to face the University of Rochester Tuesday night under the lights. This non-conference match is set to begin at 7 pm.
 
Last Weekend: The Green and Gold hosted two SUNYAC matchups over last weekend. The squad defeated New Paltz on Friday, 1-0, to open conference play with a win. On Saturday the Red Dragons from Oneonta came to town. Brockport tied Oneonta, 1-1, pushing the team's record to 4-2-2 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play.
 
Mighty Mascaro: Julia Mascaro is currently in a four-way tie for the conference lead in total points so far this season. She is also tied for first with two others around the league in assists. Mascaro leads the Golden Eagles with 12 total points coming from four goals and four assists. This past weekend she contributed on both of the team's goals, earning an assist against New Paltz and scoring a goal against Oneonta.
 
Conference Numbers: Katie Hotaling and Julia Mascaro are tied among many others in the SUNYAC for second in the conference with four goals. Playing from a defensive position, Sophia DeAngelo is tied for seventh in the conference with two assists. Brockport is 1-0-1 in the SUNYAC, placing them third in the standings behind only Geneseo and Plattsburgh who are both 2-0 in the conference.
 
Blocking the Way: Kayla Usborne remains solid in net for the Green and Gold, making 12 saves over the weekend in two matches. With a 1-0 win over New Paltz, she remains tied for first in the SUNYAC with three shutouts. Usborne is also top five in the conference with a total of 37 saves so far this year.
 
Road Warriors: After a pair of home contests the Golden Eagles are now on the road Tuesday night. They have had great success on the road so far this season. The squad is 2-0 away from home and is outscoring opponents 8-0 while traveling. Brockport will have a chance to keep up this incredible success while away against the Yellowjackets.
 
Looking at Rochester: The University of Rochester are entering this match on a three-game win streak. During this span the team has outscored its opponents 14-2, after most recently defeating Waynesburg 7-2. The Yellowjackets are 4-2-1 overall, however they have yet to win a home match as they are 0-2 at home. Claire Grover leads the squad with 12 total points on five goals and two assists.
 
Up Next: After a quick step outside of conference play, the Golden Eagles return home this weekend for another SUNYAC battle. They welcome Geneseo on Saturday for a 4 pm start.
