Women's Basketball On the Road for Busy Weekend

Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's basketball team looks to get back on track this weekend with a pair of SUNYAC matchups on the road. The team will first face New Paltz for a 2 pm tip-off on Friday. Then on Saturday Brockport will play Oneonta at 2 pm.

Last Outing: The Golden Eagles came up short on the offensive end last game, when they fell to Cortland, 44-31, at home. Serena Sordetto finished with seven points and seven rebounds as their leading scorer in the contest. It was a season-low in shooting percentage and total points for Brockport this season.

Getting Back on Track: The recent loss to Cortland makes it three in a row for the Green and Gold heading into this weekend. Brockport has chances on Friday and Saturday to get back on track in the win column. At 8-6 overall and 3-5 in the conference, Brockport is sitting in seventh place in the current SUNYAC standings.

Starting Five: The traditional Golden Eagles starting lineup this season has been made up of Anna Felice, Kylee Rosbrook, Erin Nolan, Chelsea Henry, and Molly Mahony. Felice is averaging a career-high 14.3 points per game this season. Rosbrook is the only other member of the team averaging double-digits, scoring 10.3 points per game. Nolan scores at an efficient 45.7% shooting from the floor as she puts up 8.7 points and 4.9 rebounds a game. Mahony and Henry are among the team's leaders in assists and steals this season. Mahony is first with 23 steals and third with 28 assists, while Henry is second with 20 steals and second with 33 assists.

Reserves Rotation: Serena Sordetto and Erin Radack have been the first two off the bench this season for the Green and Gold. Sordetto is averaging 7.5 points and 5.3 rebounds a game, while playing just 16.2 minutes a night off the bench. Radack leads the team in assists from her reserve role, and is second on the team with 12 makes from long range this year. Freshmen Hali Lucia and Zoe Zutes have both provided valuable minutes off the bench this season as well.

New Paltz Matchup: The Hawks are 10-4 overall and 6-2 in the conference going into a busy weekend around the SUNYAC. They recently defeated Oneonta in a bounce back effort after a 63-56 loss to Geneseo. #4 Brianna Fitzgerald is the team's leading scorer and rebounder, as she averaged 14.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. Anna Felice and Erin Nolan both scored 17 points for the Green and Gold the last time Brockport played New Paltz this season. However, the Hawks balanced scoring helped them edge out a 60-55 win.

Facing the Red Dragons: After three wins in a row, Oneonta recently lost to New Paltz, 66-54, to become 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the SUNYAC. #12 Molly Stephens is leading the team in scoring, with an average of 11.3 points per game. Anna Felice led all scorers with 20 points the last time these two teams played, which saw Brockport take the 75-51 win. Erin Nolan and Serena Sordetto both poured in at least 10 points as well.

Looking Ahead: The Golden Eagles are back home on the 28th for a matchup with Plattsbrugh. The game is set to tip-off at 5:30 pm.
