Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's and women's indoor track and field team hosted the Winter Welcome Back to Brockport Meet Saturday morning. Including Brockport, the meet featured SUNY Cortland, SUNY Geneseo, Nazareth College, St. John Fisher College and The University of Rochester.
Brockports women's team recorded an overall 3rd place finish in the meet scoring 124 total points. Of the 124 points, 71 came from the field with the biggest event of the day coming from the high jump as they earned the team a total of 19 points.
The men finished with a team score of 108 points with 68 points coming from the field. Of the 68 field points 29 of those were earned in the men's shot put.
Track Events:
60m
In the Men's 60-meter dash,
Olivier Kothor took home first place in the event with a time of 7.00 seconds.
Egypt Page finished in second place in the same event with a time of 7.14s. on the Women's side, Sarah Levine earned six points for the team claiming third place in the dash in 8.11s.
60m Hurdles
Kelsie Neldrett of the Golden Eagles took home third place in the 60m hurdles completing the event with a final time of 9.56s.
400m
For the women's 400m race, Brockport's Rhea Winter took home fifth place with a time of 1:04.73.
500m
Nick Markle finished sixth in the men's 500m race earning three points with a time of 1:08.42
800m
Three women finished in the top eight of the women's 800m. Kaylee Haynes earned a fourth place finish with a time of 2:28.93. Meredith Masker finished with a time of 2:33.51 for sixth place while Lydia Cox finished seventh in a time of 2:36.61. in combination the trio earned a total 10 points for the teams overall score.
Mile
In the Mile, defending Prestosports Women's Track Athlete of the Week Veronica Dailey took home first place once again In the women's mile with a time of 5:28.71. in the men's mile,
Jonathan Zavala finished in fourth place earning 5 points for the Green and Gold with a time of 4:22.98.
5000m
Ethan Carey took home first place in the men's 5000m race with a time of 15:48.47. Karey Flower took home second place in the same event for the women with a time of 19:06.74.
4x400
The women's team of Kaylee Haynes, Meredith Masker, Ashley Martinez and Lucia Sibley finished in second place in the 4x400 with a time of 4:30.14.
Field Events
Throws:
Sarah Crockett took home first place in the women's shot put in today's meet as she recorded 13.17m placing her ranked fourth In the nation in the shotput. Emma Kinnicutt took home third for Brockport throwing 11.27m. five of the mens throwers earned team points for the Golden Eagles in the shot put.
Art Jordan took home first place with 15.20m.
Alex Rood finished second with 14.78m.
Elijah Washington rounded out the top three with a throw of 14.71m. in sixth place for Brockport, matt Faulise recorded a throw of 13.70m for sixth place while
John Demy claimed seventh with a throw of 13.50m.
In the Weight Throw, eight Golden Eagle's earned points for the mens team.
Matt Faulise finished with the team's best throw of 15.85m earning 8 points.
Connor Ferris took home fourth place with a toss of 15.21m earning five points.
Elijah Washington finished behind Ferris with a throw of 15.18m for sixth place while
John Demy took home eighth place with a throw of 14.14m earning one point for the team. For the women, Sarah Crockett recorded a first place finish with a throw of 15.88m. Emma Kinnicutt took home second place in the event with a throw of 14.74m.
Pole Vault:
Tess Eichner finished in fourth place for the women's pole vault clearing a height of 3.05m while Gillian Laco took home sixth clearing 2.75m. Zach Smith of Brockport also recorded a fourth place finish in the men's pole vault with a height of 4.10m.
High Jump:
Three Golden Eagles placed in the top five for Brockport in the high jump. Michaela Levesque took home first place in the women's high jump with a clearance of 1.64m. Levesques jump puts her ranked tied for 11th in the nation in the high jump. Halle King recorded 4th place with a height of 1.51m. While Sarah Killip cleared with a height of 1.51m for a fifth place finish.
Long Jump:
Brockport's Defending National Champion
Egypt Page once again took home first place in the men's long jump leaping his way to 7.25m.
Triple Jump:
Mia Montgomery took home first place for the women's triple jump with a leap of 10.91m.
D'Andre Hunter recorded a jump of 13.03m resulting in a fifth place finish while
Derek Edick took home eighth place with a 12.16m jump.

Brockport will next travel to Utica, NY where they will compete in the Utica Blue & Orange Invite on Saturday, January 29th.
