Brockport Ties With Geneseo on the Road

Geneseo, NY- The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team battled Geneseo to a, 1-1, draw to remain unbeaten in the SUNYAC. Brockport is now 8-1-5 overall and 6-0-1 in the conference, while Geneseo sits at 7-4-3 overall and 1-2-3 in the conference. 
 
After the first 45 minutes of action, Brockport led Geneseo, 1-0, going into the half. 36 minutes and eight seconds into the match, Russ Domm drew a foul inside the box to earn the Golden Eagles a penalty kick. Matthew Stefaniw  stepped up and found an opening in the bottom right corner of the net for the score.
 
With twelve minutes left in the second half, Tyler Lewandowski put Geneseo on the board. The equalizer tied the game up at 1-1 late in the game. With neither team able to break the tie, both teams snagged a point in SUNYAC standings from the draw.
 
Goalkeeper Andrew Taylor went the distance yet again for the Green and Gold. Taylor recorded eight saves, only allowing one goal, as Geneseo outshot Brockport 22-7 in the contest. 
 
Brockport will travel to SUNY New Paltz to play at 1pm on Saturday, October 15th for its next game. The squad remains at the top of the SUNYAC standings and is still aiming for the top seed going into the postseason.
