New Paltz, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's soccer team fell, 1-0, on the road against SUNY New Paltz for its first loss in conference play this season. Brockport moves to 8-2-5 overall and 6-1-1 in the SUNYAC, while New Paltz is now 7-4-3 overall and 3-2-1 in the SUNYAC.
Brockport recorded a total of five shots and earned four corner kicks during the match.
Alex Rivara led the team in shots with two.
Kolbi Maddy,
Matthew Stefaniw and
Max Voyer also fired off shots for the Golden Eagles.
Senior Philip Varner scored the lone goal for New Paltz early in the first half at 19:08. The unassisted goal would be enough for the Hawks to pull out the win.
Andrew Taylor spent the full 90 minutes in the goal, recording one save and allowing one goal.
The Golden Eagles will be back at Dr. Linda Arena Field for their Senior Day Game against nationally-ranked SUNY Cortland on Saturday, October 22
