Brockport, NY- The SUNY Brockport Swimming and Diving team hosted SUNY Potsdam Saturday afternoon. Both the Men's and Women's team beat the Bears. The Women won 193-67 while the Men won 152-131.
The Women won 14/14 events throughout the meet. The Women were off to a hot start with a 4:19.51 in the 400yard medley relay made up of the team of
Miya Vitale,
Sam Whitman,
Emily LeFrois-Heath and
Sawyer Parker.
Nicole Orcutt placed first in both her 1000 freestyle (11:31.36) and her 100 Butterfly (1:04.32).
Miya Vitale snatched first in all of her events. She swam a 2:10.57 in her 200-yard freestyle, a 2:21.34 in her 200-yard backstroke and a 5:48.66 in the 500-yard freestyle.
Lefrois-Heath made some waves in the pool today finishing her 400-yard individual medley in 4:49.14, four seconds of from the school record and only five seconds of off the pool record. She dominated the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:21.97 and a first place finish.
Qian Rappazzo earned her first collegiate win in the 100-yard backstroke (1:11.61) and
Teagan Makuch has here in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:47.44).
Sam Whitman finished first in the 100-yard breast with a time of 1:15.75 and
Sawyer Parker touched first in the 50 (26.09) and 100-yard freestyle (56.64).
Kyra Russ is back on the boards, finishing first in both the 3-Meter (228.67) and the 1-Meter (227.84) diving events.
Caroline Rossi finished fourth in the 3-Meter diving event with a score of 175.57.
On the Men's side of the pool Kurt Mueller took first in both the 3-Meter (262.88) and the 1-Meter (265.12) diving events. Ren Watson placed second on both the 3-Meter (208.42) and the 1-Meter (176.02) diving events.
The Men pulled out an important win over Potsdam today. The close races made the meet. Oliver Dragojevic's first place finish the in 100-yard breaststroke was one of those races, touching the pads at 1:01.69 a half second before Daniel Russoti of Potsdam. Dragojevic pulled it out again in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:22.03, two seconds before Russoti.
A second and third place finish from Matt Chan (2:16.29) and Logan Kime (2:37.07) in the 200-fly snagged seven of those vital points for the men.
Freshman Joe Keeney had a big meet, with two first place finishes. He went a 59.23 in the 100-fly and 23.58 in the 50-free.
Luca Olivieri was another key swimmer in the competition with a first-place finish in the 400-yard indivual medly (4:29.54). Olivieri was also a part of a vital second (1:51.33), third and fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. Third in the event was Ethan Niver (2:06.33) and fourth for The Green and Gold was Johannes Ginder (2:07.45).
The Men ended the meet with a second-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay made up of the team of Joe Keeney, Oliver Dragojevic, Garrett Nanna and Jace Fredericksen.
The Golden Eagles Swimming and Diving team will head to Ohio for their Mid-Season Championship format meet at Oberlin next week.
