Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's basketball team is on the road Tuesday, November 29
th for the first SUNYAC game of the season. Brockport opens conference play against Buffalo State for a 7:30pm start.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles defeated York College, 95-64, on the road last week. They have now won three in a row and improved to 3-1 overall so far this year. In the first half, the Golden Eagles kept the opponent to just 35.29% shooting from the field and 10% from beyond the arc. They took a 13-point lead into the locker room at the mid-game break.
Tony Arnold and
Mekhi Beckett went to work in the second half, as the duo each scored over 20 points on the night. Each made two shots from long range to lead Brockport to its best 3-point shooting half of the season so far at 7-for-16 (43.75%). The team outscored York, 52-34, in the second half to cruise to a 31-point win.
SUNYAC Play: Conference play will begin this week for the Green and Gold. The squad takes on Buffalo State to open SUNYAC play. Over the past five seasons, under Head Coach
Greg Dunne, Brockport has gone 68-22 within the conference. Last year the Golden Eagles finished 12-6 against SUNYAC opponents on the way to earning the No. 3 seed for the conference postseason tournament.
Impact Performances: In the recent win over York College, multiple players had impressive performances for the Green and Gold.
Tony Arnold had his best game since coming to Brockport, contributing all over the court. He put up career-highs of 21 points, eight assists, and seven rebounds, while adding four steals. Arnold was nearly perfect from the field shooting 8-for-9 from the floor including 2-for-2 from deep.
Both
David Grady III and
Tyler Cowie posted double-doubles in the dominant road win.
Grady racked up 11 points, 11 boards, and a season-high six blocks on the way to his second double-double of the year. Cowie finished with his first ever double-double at Brockport, putting up 11 points and 10 boards.

Mekhi Beckett continues his strong start to the season. He led all scorers in the contest with 22 points, shooting 9-for-19.
Looking at Buffalo State: The Bengals head into the matchup with an overall record of 1-2 early this season. They most recently got in the win column by defeating Medaille, 57-54, at home. Buffalo State came from behind to take the lead in the final minute of the game to pull out a narrow victory. The team currently has two players averaging double-digits in scoring. #2 Argjen Imeri leads the team with 12.7 points a game, while #14 Robert Richards is close behind averaging 11.0 points a game. Three games in, Buffalo State is shooting 38.1% from the floor, 26.7% from deep, and 65.5% at the foul line as a team.

nd to face Oswego at 7:30pm before coming home to host Cortland on Saturday, December 3rd for a 5pm start.
