Cortland, NY – It took all five sets to determine the conference champion on Saturday, as Brockport fell to top-seeded Cortland, 3-2, in the SUNYAC Finals. Brockport was ahead 2-1, but Cortland won the final two sets to claim the SUNYAC Title on its home floor.

Following the match both Jordan Thompson and Madalyn Bowen were selected as members of the SUNYAC Volleyball All-Tournament Team.

The first set was all Cortland, as the host team for the SUNYAC Tournament marched through for a 25-15 win to start the match 1-0. Both teams battled hard in the second set, before Brockport pulled out the 28-26 win to tie the score up at 1-1. The Green and Gold snagged another point by winning the third set, 25-19.

Down late in the fourth set, the Golden Eagles tried to rally but ran out of time. Cortland tied the match up at 2-2 with a 25-21 win in the fourth, sending the championship match to a fifth set. The Red Dragons had the advantage early and held onto it to win the final set, 15-9, and win the SUNYAC Championship.

Jordan Thompson's 18 points were a team-high, as she racked up 13 kills, three aces, and four block assists. Andrea Coyle also had 13 kills to go with 14 digs in the match.

Playing in just four of the five sets, Megan Loomis heated up with 11 kills. Myah Frostclapp had 10 kills and led the squad with five total blocks on one solo and four assisted blocks.
