Brockport, NY – On Tuesday, November 8
th the SUNY Brockport men's basketball team will host Alfred University for the start of the 2022-23 season. The year gets started at 6:30pm in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium.
Recap of Last Season: Brockport's 2021-22 season came to an end after a 64-54 loss to Oneonta in the SUNYAC Semifinals. The team finished with an 18-8 record overall and a 12-6 record against conference opponents. At home Brockport took care of business with a 9-2 mark at The Vlog. The Golden Eagles concluded the regular season as the No. 3 seed for the SUNYAC Tournament. They hosted No. 6 Potsdam for the opening round, winning 62-55, before eventually falling to Oneonta in the semis.
Getting it Dunne: Heading into his 16
th season at Brockport, Head Coach
Greg Dunne returns to lead the program once again. Last year Dunne led the team to its eighth consecutive appearance in the SUNYAC Semifinals. Since taking over the program for the start of the 2007-08 season he has pushed the Golden Eagles into the conference tournament each year. Greg has brought three SUNYAC Titles back to Brockport and led the team into the NCAA Tournament four times.
All-Conference Returner: After earning 1
st-Team All-Conference two straight seasons,
Jahidi Wallace returns for another go around. He led the team in scoring with 15.4 points a game last year on 49.8% from the field, 40.6% from long range, and 74.7% at the foul line. Wallace is also approaching an all-time milestone at Brockport. With 983 career points he needs just 17 more in order to become the 25
th member of the program's 1,000 Point Club.
SUNYAC Rookie of the Year: Returning for his sophomore season is last year's SUNYAC Rookie of the Year,
Mekhi Beckett. In his first year he was the second leading scorer for the Golden Eagles, averaging 14.1 points per game. Beckett was the top threat from beyond the 3-point arc for the Green and Gold with 45 made 3-pointers on 39.1% shooting from deep. Mekhi was selected for 2
nd-Team All-Conference following his freshman campaign.
Returning to the Squad: The Golden Eagles have brought back nine members from last year's roster for this season. Among the familiar faces for Brockport his season are

Jakai White,
Monte Johnson,
Mekhi Beckett,
Milo Scheve,
Tyler Cowie,
Jahidi Wallace, and
David Grady III. With a large group of returners, the team looks to make another deep run in the postseason this year.
Welcome to Brockport: Every new season comes with a crew of new players to put on the Green and Gold. The 2022-23 roster features four new comers to the Brockport men's basketball program. The incoming freshman class includes
Zachary Rice,
Jacob Oka, and
Ibrahim Kone. The lone sophomore jumping onto the squad this year is
Nico Morrison. Keep an eye out for which new players will have an impact for Brockport.
Schedule Summary: The Golden Eagles will begin the schedule with three consecutive home games against Alfred, Keystone, and Hobart. Following a road matchup with York before Thanksgiving Break, they get SUNYAC play started. Most of the early December games are on the road before Brockport heads to DME Academy in Daytona Beach, FL for the annual Mauro Panaggio Tournament on December 18
th and 19
th. Returning from the winter break the team gets back into the thick of conference play. It all boils down to a pair of home SUNYAC matchups with Oswego and Buffalo State on February 17
th and 18
th for the regular season finale. The postseason begins on Tuesday, February 21
st for the opening round of the SUNYAC Tournament.

th. They will take on Keystone College for a 6pm start at The Vlog.
