Brockport, NY – This week the SUNY Brockport women's basketball team is busy with three games on the schedule. The squad starts the week on the road Tuesday, December 6
th for a 5:30pm matchup with Fredonia. Brockport then returns home for a Thursday night game with Alfred State at 6pm and a Saturday matchup at 2pm against the University of Rochester.
 
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles hosted the Cortland Red Dragons in their last outing, falling, 71-41, for the first conference loss of the season. Cortland took control of the game early on, and continued to outpace Brockport through the finish line. Following the loss, Brockport moved to 3-3 overall and 2-1 in SUNYAC play.
 
Felice at the Foul Line: Anna Felice remains the leading scorer for the Green and Gold through six games, pouring in 13.7 points a game. She has been fantastic at the free throw line for the squad, consistently drawing contact from opposing defenders. Felice has made 37 of her 41 attempts for a 90.2% success rate at the line.
 
Hannah Hoarding the Boards: In the battle on the glass, 
Zairea Hannah has held it down on the interior for Brockport. The forward leads the team with 11.2 rebounds a game and is putting up 10.0 points a night, averaging a double-double. Against Cortland she posted her second double-double of the year with season-highs of 14 points and 16 boards.
 
Plays on the Perimeter: Guards 
Anna Lee and 
Hali Lucia have contributed on both sides of the ball for the Golden Eagles. Lee currently leads the team with 16 assists (2.7 apg) and 11 steals (1.8 spg). Lucia is close behind at second on the squad with tallies of 10 assists (1.7 apg) and nine steals (1.5 spg) so far this year.
 
Heading Down South: After the busy week ahead, Brockport will begin to prepare for a trip down to Daytona Beach, FL for the Mauro Panaggio Tournament, hosted by DME Academy. Brockport will be joined by Elmhurst, Nazareth, and Theil for the event down south. The team will open the action at 4pm on Monday, December 19
th against Elmhurst. Nazareth and Thiel will face-off at 6pm the same day to determine the final matchups. The consolation game will be at 11am, with the championship game at 1pm on Tuesday, December 20
th.
 
Looking at Fredonia: The Fredonia State Blue Devils lost all three of their games last week, as they dropped to 3-5 overall and 0-3 to start SUNYAC play. They enter Tuesday night's game on a four-game losing streak. #10 Renee Park currently leads the team in scoring, averaging 13.5 points a game while shooting 39.6% from downtown. Brockport split the pair of matchups with Fredonia last year, as the Blue Devils won the last meeting, 67-56.
 
Looking at Alfred State: Alfred State most recently fell to Houghton College, 80-47, back on November 22
nd in the team's last game. The Pioneers hold a record of 1-4 overall heading into the Thursday matchup with Brockport. #22 Myah Fox is leading the team with an average of 10.2 points per game to go with a solid 7.2 rebounds per game. #13 Faith McCombs leads the rebounding effort with a team-high 10.7 boards a night. Brockport won the last matchup between the two squads, 71-59, back during the 2014-15 season.
 
Looking at U of R: After falling to Hamilton College, 80-75, over the weekend, the University of Rochester Yellowjackets are 6-1 overall. #23 Katie Titus leads the way for U of R with averages of 18.0 points a game and a solid 6.4 boards a game, while shooting 52.4% from the field. Last year Brockport defeated the Yellowjackets, 69-65, behind a 24-point outing by 
Anna Felice.
