Boston, MA – The SUNY Brockport men's and women's indoor track and field team had seven competitors compete in day 2 of the Boston University Valentine Invitational.
Olivier Kothor set a new school record as five other competitors broke into the top 10 times in multiple events for the school program record books.
Breaking Records
Olivier Kothor is the current SUNY Brockport record holder in the 60m dash when he ran the event in a time of 6.89s back at the Utica Holiday Classic. Today, Kothor now holds the schools record in two events when he ran the 200m in a time of 21.89s. the former record was held by Zach Brown and set back in 2015 with a time of 22.11 to finish in 26th out of 211 competitors in the 200m today. In the 60m dash Kothor finished fifth out of 25 competitors with a time of 6.90s.
3000m
In the men's 3000m distance race,
Jared Smith finished the event in a time of 8:38.56s which place him third all-time in SUNY Brockport history. Out of 98 competitors Thomas Kressley of the Golden Eagles placed 80th in the 3000m with a time of 8:49.31 which places him 10th all time in program history.
5000m
Ethan Carey walked out of the Boston University Invitational as the 6th fastest person in Brockport History to run the 5000m when he completed the distance race in a time of 15:17.99.
1 Mile
In the men's 1 mile race Brockport's Jonathon Zavala finished in 150th out of 325 other competitors. He ran the race in a time of 4:17.21 which sees him rank third place in the event in SUNY Brockport history.
800m
Nick Markle ran the men's 800m event in a time of 1:57.89s which see him rank 7th all time in the program's history.
4000m Exhibition Relay
The women's team of
Meredith Masker,
Jennifer Metz,
Lucia Sibley,
Veronica Dailey completed the 4000m Exhibition relay in a time of 13:18.48s to earn them second out of 12 other teams competing in the event.
