Buffalo, NY – The SUNY Brockport men and women's swim and dive team completed day one of the SUNYAC Championships on Wednesday. Nicole Orcutt, Sawyer Parker, Allison Morrow, and Elizabeth Sagan set a new school record time of 7:56.23 in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
The record-breaking relay team beat the previous record of 7:57.39, which was set at the 2020 SUNYAC Championships. Orcutt and Parker were on that relay team as well, improving upon their own school record this time around. Brockport took third place in the event on Wednesday, scoring 32 points for the team.
On the 3-meter diving board,
Mark Eaton placed fourth in the finals with a score of 478.45. This score ranks third best all-time in program history for the 3-meter diving event, and is a personal-best for Eaton.
Kurt Mueller also set a new personal-record in the competition, placing eighth with a score of 415.30. The two combined to score 26 points for the Golden Eagles.
The men's 800-yard freestyle relay team of
Cody Conte,
Taylan Getiren,
Gavin Stone, and
Ryan Sampson placed ninth. The squad completed the event with a 8:03.08 time, coming away with 18 points for the team.
After day one both the men and women are sitting in third place in the team overall scores. The men are tied with Oneonta for third with 44 points, while the women are in sole possession of third with 32 points.
The Golden Eagles are back in action tomorrow for day two of the SUNYAC Swim and Dive Championships.
