Henry Has Career Day in Senior Day Victory

Brockport, NY – Chelsea Henry decided to go out with a bang on Senior Day, notching the second double-double of her career with a career-high 24 points and 10 rebounds. She led the way as Brockport defeated Buffalo State at home, 77-70.
 
Chelsea Henry led all scorers in the contest, shooting 11-for-22 from the field. She scored a career-high 24 points in the final game of her collegiate career. Fellow senior, Kylee Rosbrook almost had a double-double of her own with 18 points and nine rebounds. Anna Felice scored 17 points in the game, going 3-for-9 from downtown.
 
The Golden Eagles got off to a hot start with 25 points in the first quarter, the second highest first period total of the season. They shot 11-for-17 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc to begin the game. Anna Felice lit the spark, as she put up 13 points in the first. Buffalo State trailed, 25-18, heading into the second quarter. Kylee Rosbrook and Chelsea Henry got things going in the second, combining for 15 points in the quarter. The two seniors were vital in Brockport extending its lead to 19 points at halftime.
 
The Golden Eagles shot 58.3% in the opening half, going 21-for-36 from the floor. The 46 points in the first two quarters, paved the way for the team's highest scoring output of the season.
 
With Brockport up big to start the second half, the visiting Bengals would slowly cut into the lead as the third quarter went on. They outscored the Green and Gold, 21-15, in the period making it a 13-point game heading into the fourth. Buffalo State got out in transition several times for easy scores, cutting the deficit to just five points with 4:56 remaining. Brockport kept Buffalo State from scoring in the final minute of play to hold off the comeback attempt, securing the seven-point victory.
 
Buffalo State was led by Tashawni Cornfield's 18 points, five rebounds, and three steals. The team had three others score in double figures, but was unable to pull out the win. The Bengals complete the regular season 14-10 overall and 11-7 in the conference.
 
The Golden Eagles will miss out on a spot in the SUNYAC Tournament this year, the first time since the 2014-15 season. Brockport closes the season on a win, completing the year with a record of 12-12 overall and 7-11 in the SUNYAC.
