Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's and women's track and field team competed in the final day of the 2022 SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday
Overall Team Finishes
The women's team finished second in the SUNYAC championships with a total score of 156 points as the men's team finished in third place with a score of 129 points. SUNY Geneseo won both the men's and women's 2022 SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships as the Geneseo men scored 237 points with the women scoring 337 points.
Most Valuable Performer
Sarah Crockett managed to earn two big individual awards as the junior was announced as the meets women CO-MVP along with the meets most outstanding performer as voted on by each of the SUNYAC coach's
SUNYAC Track Finalists
In the 60m dash, Brockport's Sarah Levine earned a second place silver finish and personal best with a time of 7.86s.
Olivier Kothor won his third straight SUNYAC Championship in the men's 60m dash this year with a time of 6.95s.
Devin Kipp placed sixth for the men with a time of 7.34s
Kelsie Naldrett was able to earn herself a silver medal in the women's 60m hurdles for SUNYAC with a time of 9.36s. Marissa Wise finished sixth in the event with a time of 9.97s.
In then 200m dash, Sarah Levine recorded a third place finish and time of 26.09s while Marissa Wise earned a fifth place finish with a time in the race of 26.28s.
Paul Suflita earned a seventh place finish in the men's 300m race with a time of 8:47.26.
Marissa Wise placed eighth in the women's 400m final with a time of 1:01.81
Kaylee Haynes and Jennifer Metz both competed in the finals of the women's 800m race. Haynes finished in fifth place with a time of 2:22.91 while Metz finished in seventh with a time of 2:26.77
Jonathan Zavala earned a fifth place finish in the men's 800m final, finishing with a time of 1:56.84
In the women's mile, Veronica Dailey earned fifth place in the event with a time of 5:26.75. Jonathon Zavala managed to earn a medal in the men's mile race with a third place finish of 4:16.18.
Thomas Kressly took home a seventh place finish of 4:24.33. Zavalas time of 4:16.18 sets him fourth all time in program history in the men's mile while Kresley's time of 4:24.33 seats him 10th all time in program history.
For the 3000m, on the women's side, Kerry Flower took home seventh place in the race with a time of 10:36.77
The women's 4x400 team of Lucia Sibley, Kaylee Haynes, Sarah Levine and Marissa Wise managed to take home silver in the event with a time of 4:03.40
SUNYAC Day 2 Field Finalists
The Men's weight throw saw the Golden Eagles earn two medals as
Matt Faulise finished in first with a mark of 16.68m as
Connor Ferris earned third with a throw of 16.19m.
Elijah Washington recorded a fourth place finish with 15.92m and
Art Jordan a sixth place finish with 14.54m.
The women's weight throwers took home the top four spots in the events with Sarah Crocket earning her second gold medal of this SUNYAC Championship after claiming first place with a mark of 15.49m. Alayna Fredenburg earned second place with 15.39m, Emma Kinnicutt third with 15.32m and Ellie Ramirez fourth with 13.94m.
Josh Jeziorksi earned himself a gold medal with a first place finish in the men's long jump with a leap of 6.88m. Dion Putaski earned Bronze with his third place finish in the long jump jumping for a distance of 6.66m
In the women's long jump, Chanyce Powell and Halle King earned medals as Powell took home a second place finish with a jump of 5.36m and King earning third place in the event with 5.28m
For the women's high jump, Halle King medaled for the women with a third place finish clearing a height of 1.62m while Sarah Killip recorded a fourth place finish clearing the height of 1.57m
The men and women who qualified will now advance to next weekend's All-Atlantic Regional Conference Championships on Friday and Saturday hosted by Nazareth College
