The SUNY Brockport track & field team had five athletes compete at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships at the JDL Fasttrack in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on Saturday.
Sarah Crockett placed sixth in the shot put and earned All-American honors for the Golden Eagles.
Crockett earned her first career All-American honor after she placed sixth in the shot put on Saturday with a throw of 13.85m. Her All-American qualifying throw came on her second of six total attempts on Saturday. She posted a throw of 13.71m on her first attempt, 13.85m on her second, 13.35m on her third, 12.77m on her fourth, 13.48m on her fifth and 13.43m on her sixth and final attempt of the day. The reigning SUNYAC Most Outstanding Field Athlete of the Year and the 2022 AARTFCC Shot Put Champion entered Saturday's national meet with a career-best throw of 14.00m.
Brockport's
Chanyce Powell placed 11
th out of 20 competitors in the triple jump as she competed in her fourth career NCAA Championships. She fouled on her first attempt before posting a jump of 11.56m in her second attempt and her top distance of the day (11.65m) in her third and final attempt.
Brockport's
Michaela Levesque tied for 16
th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.56m in her first NCAA appearance. She cleared 1.56m on her first attempt but could not clear the 1.61m height to earn a 16
th place finish out of 20 competitors.
Brockport's
Art Jordan placed 17
th on Saturday in the shot put with a throw of 14.45m in his first NCAA appearance.
Alex Rood placed 18
th with a throw of 14.39m in his first career nationals' appearance.
