ROCHESTER, NY – The SUNY Brockport baseball team (13-2) defeated the Fredonia State Blue Devils (9-8) Saturday afternoon at Towers Field at the University of Rochester by a score of 10-2. The game marks the 11th strait win for the Golden Eagles and sets a new record for the longest winning streak in program history. The Team is currently on a 15 home game winning streak

Pitching Summary
Matt McGowan (1-0) got the start on the mound for the Golden Eagles as he threw four innings allowing only one unearned run to come across the plate for his third appearance of the season. He struck out four batters in four innings and through 14.1 innings pitched this season holds a 1.88 ERA is the second lowest ERA on the team amongst pitchers who have thrown over 10 innings.
After the fourth inning the ball was turned over to freshman two-way player
Nick Ianniello who pitched three innings. In that time frame he only gave up four hits and one run while striking out four batters.
Justin DelVecchio would pitch the eighth inning where on his birthday he allowed no hits while striking out one batter having faced five batters.
Matthew Colucci closed the game out in the ninth inning where he retired the side in order recording one strikeout in his performance.
Brockport's Pitching staff improves its dominant performance to start the season where as a team through 119.0 innings pitched the team has only allowed 23 earned runs for a combined ERA of 1.74. this ERA puts the Golden Eagles at No. 1 in the country amongst teams with the lowest ERA's. Franciscan University from Ohio ranks second in the nation with an ERA of 2.84.
