PITTSFORD, NY – The SUNY Brockport men's and women's track and field team competed in day two of the All-Atlantic Regional Track & Field Indoor Conference Championship hosted by Nazareth College on Saturday at the Golisano Training Center.
Team Scores
After two days, the men managed to take home sixth place overall with a score of 33 points through the meet. The team earned the most points from the distance medley relay team of Thomas Kressley,
Frank Derdzinski,
Nick Markle and
Jonathan Zavala who set a new school record in the event with a time of 10:17.37 to earn 8 points with a second place finish for the The Green and Gold.
The Brockport women's team finished regionals in second place overall out of 31 total teams who competed with a score of 62 points. The women's shot putters earned the teams most points with a combined 13 towards the final team score. Sarah Crockett recorded a first place finish yesterday on day one of the meet as she set a facility record of 13.98m in the shot put. Ellie Ramirez took home sixth place with a throw of 12.06m.
Field Placers
Two women earned a spot in the top five in the women's weight throw event Saturday evening. Alayna Fredenburg a SUNYAC Prestosport Field Athlete of the Week winner earned herself a third place finish in the event after throwing for a mark of 16.16m. Sarah Crockett who's a four time SUNYAC Prestosport sport Field Athlete of the Week, finished in fifth place at regionals after having a throw of 15.91m.
For the men's weight throw,
Matt Faulise took home seventh place with a throw of 16.42m.
Michaela Levesque managed to take home a second place finish at Regionals on Saturday in the women's high jump after clearing a mark of 1.65m. she narrowly missed out tying her own personal record of 1.68m which she set back on February 4th at the Brockport Multi.
Halle King for the Golden Eagles recorded a fourth place finish in the women's long jump with a mark of 5.50m, a season best.

In the Men's long jump,
Josh Jeziorski recorded a fifth place finish with a mark of 6.81m
Sarah Levine of the Golden Eagles was able to earn herself a fourth place finish in the women's 60m dash with a time of 7.88s. she just missed tying her personal record which is currently 7.86m which she set at the SUNYAC Indoor Track and Field Championships last weekend. Levine also finished in eight places in the women's 200m with a time of 26.36
In the women's 800m, Brockport Jennifer Metz finish in seventh place with a time of 2:18.93s breaking her personal record of 2:21.08. Her time of 2:18.93 ranks her fifth all time in program history.
In the men's 800m,
Jonathan Zavala recorded a time of 1:55.90 to take home fourth place at regionals.
Nationals Bound
Next up, those who managed to qualify from the men's and women's indoor track and field team will travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina on March 11th and 12th for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.
