Aurora, NY – The SUNY Brockport baseball earned a convincing, 16-1, win over Wells on the road in some non-conference action. Brockport improves to 21-4 overall and own a 7-2 mark in SUNYAC play.
James Houlahan finished 3-for-4 at the plate as the Green and Gold bats were hot all game. Houlahan had two doubles, three RBIs, and three runs scored.
Nicholas Pastore was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs.
Ryan Mansell had two hits in two tries as the designated hitter, connecting for two doubles with an RBI and two runs scored.
Tom Kretzler also hit two doubles, going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs.
Jake Sisto and
Ryan Voight both registered two RBIs in the contest. Sisto was 2-for-4 with a double, while Voight had one hit in three at-bats.
Zach Goldberg was 2-for-4 with an RBI and teammate
Zach Eldred was 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Andrew Huffman (W, 6-1) gets the start and the win on the mound for the Golden Eagles. He struck out eight batters in just four innings of work, allowing just one run and three hits.

James Houlahan hit an RBI double and
Nicholas Pastore hit a two-RBI triple to give Brockport a 3-0 lead in the first. Wells got on the board in the bottom of the first to make it a 3-1 game, but the Express would not touch home plate again the rest of the game.
Over the next four innings, Brockport would score 11 unanswered runs to break the game wide open. The squad took a 14-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth. While the Green and Gold pitching staff continued to keep Wells off the board, two more runs scored in the eighth to add more cushion. Brockport cruised to the 16-1 win over its non-conference opponent.
The Golden Eagles are back home for more non-conference play early next week. They host the U of R at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, April 19
th and Sage at the same time on Wednesday.
